The rain poured down in sheets, thundering on the roof of the tent where Renesmee crouched, her knees tucked under her chin, shivering slightly in the cold. She jerked her head to the side as a leaf crunched outside- no, it was only her imagination. She bit her lip, thinking about what had happened over the last few days. She had never realised Jacob could be so… persistent. And creepy. He was surprisingly good at stalking, too.

"Renesmee?"

She screamed as a familiar head poked into the tent. How had he found her? Dammit – her human half must have left some kind of scent for him to follow. "Renesmee, we need to talk." He wormed his way into the tent as she cowered back in the corner, making herself as small as possible. Jacob took a deep breath. "Why won't you tell me what's going on?"

She squeezed her eyes tightly shut, willing him to go away.

No such luck.

"Renesmee?"

"No," she said, quietly. "No, I can't keep lying to you. I have to tell you… the truth."

He gasped.

"What?"

"Jacob… I… I've been accepted into Hogwarts."

"Oh my god." He leant back against the fabric wall, ignoring the drops of water that soaked the back of his shirt. "No."

"What?"

"No. I won't let you go."

"Huh?"

"You're not going to Hogwarts." He jumped forward and pinned her to the ground. "If I stop you from going, then you can't go to Hogwarts, right? Right?" his eyes glinted crazily in the dim twilight. Renesmee wondered, for one fleeting moment, whether the drumming rain outside was actually the thumping of his heart. "Stay here with me," he growled.

Renesmee was scared. And so, she did what any part-vampire's natural instincts would tell them to do- she pounced forward and ripped out Jacob's jugular vein, spraying the inside of the tent with a gallon of warm werewolf blood.
