Chapter One: Baking Confessions
Business had been slow at Muffet's bakery. After the barrier was shattered, many of the monsters had decided to leave for the surface, leaving only a few underground. Muffet knew that she'd never be able to bring all the spiders too the surface, as it was definitely out of her budget. However, there was always one sure customer at her bakery; a short, lazy skeleton who told terrible jokes every time he walked in. Muffet had always secretly loved his jokes; she kept them away in a notebook her cousin had given her. "For your recipes," she had said. Muffet never had need to write down her recipes; she had them all memorized, so instead, she wrote down the jokes that her favorite customer had told her.
Muffet had thought today would be normal; the skeleton walking in, ordering a muffin with a side of ketchup (Though it could have been the other way around! So much ketchup!) and telling the other customers jokes as he waited for his meal. However, as he was ordering, something different happened. "I'll take a muffin with ketchup," he said as he handed her the money. "Keep the change, for the spiders. There's more where that extra money came from." "Ahuhu! Thanks deary! Your patronage will soon be rewarded!" Muffet replied with joy.
Sans turned around to walk to his usual seat, but was stopped with a tap on his shoulder. "Actually, could you and I talk after my shift?" The spider girl inquired. "Sure thing Muffy! Any time you want!" The skeleton replied. He turned, and was finally able to eat his muffin with ketchup.
Muffet was worried. What if he doesn't feel the same way? What if he likes someone else, and I'm just not good enough for him? She came up with an idea; she would bring the joke book with her, to show him how much she cares.
It was 12:30 when Muffet's shift ended, and she was as nervous as a whimsun in the Ruins. She decided that she had to do this, for her own sake, because if she didn't, she would regret it for her whole life. She met Sans outside the front door. "Sans, I know that there's a small chance of this working, but I just wanted to tell you how I feel. You are the most important person in my world, and I'm happy to have you in my world. I write down every joke you say, and look back on them every time I feel upset. I… I love you. Not just as a friend, nor as a customer, but actual love. I want you to be mine, and only mine!" Muffet sputtered. "Wow Muffet. I didn't know you had these feelings for me. I don't know what to say, but, I guess we could make this work." Muffet was flustered, she didn't think that would actually work! She just thought that she would end up getting rejected, like always. Not knowing what to do, she pulled Sans into a hug, causing his cheeks to glow a phosphorescent blue, her own cheeks turning purple. "I love you Sansy," said Muffet. "I love you too, Muffet," replied Sans, as they both drifted off into a deep hypnotic state.
