Just a little oneshot. I own nothing.
She see's a blue box and her eyes suddenly become glassy.
It's not the blue box but just a plain blue box. It doesn't make noise and it's not a police box either.
It's just a box.
So why is she getting all emotional?
Because the man standing next to her is not him. He can look and sound like him all he wants but it's still not him. It's a fake.
Don't get her wrong, he does have the same quirky humor as the doctor. He also has the same wardrobe.
So why fuss? Why make a big deal out of nothing?
Because it is a big deal.
Her doctor was a time lord. He could save the world while dying on the inside. He could lose everyone he loves just so earth can be safe from danger.
He could yell at her for being another 'stupid ape,' then turn around and grin at her saying that she was fantastic.
She never understood how his mind worked nor did she even dare try to figure him out. She just loved how he worked. How he could help her see the world -no, the universe- in a way she would have never dreamed of. He helped her realize how passionate she was about helping people from aliens.
He showed her how to live.
And when he changed bodies she felt heart brake. Would he still remember me?
Yes. A millions times yes.
She would never know all the feelings he had towards that one specific little human.
Because she taught him how precious a young person's life is. How to take care of the next generation's youth with fragile hands because they will do extraordinary things.
And she will do extraordinary things.
Even though he never told her how he felt about her or told her how fantastic she truly was, he tried to show it to her. But thinking on that thought he regrets that it was never enough.
Hopefully his humane self can show her how amazing she truly is…
Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how they feel towards each other because the past is the past. And the future is whatever they want to make it. Just not with each other.
It doesn't matter that she cries ever once in awhile because he's gone. She can cry herself to sleep with the human replica right next to her. She can fall in love with him too. But she will never forget what kind of love she truly had with the one, the only, doctor.
