Summary: Team Rocket class clowns
James lay in a heap with the rest of Team Rocket. It all seemed so familiar. Somehow something always went wrong in their plans to catch Pokemon. The plans would unravel and Pikachu would electrocute them before they went blasting off again.
Through the fog of his dazed and bewildered brain a thought occurred to him that startled and amused him. In all its years that they had been working for Team Rocket, they had never actually caught a Pokemon. It was no wonder at their last review Giovanni had called them "the bumbling trio who never does anything right."
It ate at his self-esteem. He wondered why they were allowed to remain on Team Rocket with such a dismal record. Surely, he and Jesse would soon be on the street using Meowth as a dancing cat to raise money. .Jesse would devestated. She had expensive tastes.
Maybe it was because they always faced Ash Ketchum and his friends. None of the other Team Rocket teams had ever taken any Pokemon from Ash either.
There must be a reason why they were kept on despite their lack of success. A light bulb suddenly went off over James' head. Their bosses thought of them as comic relief.
Every time they went blasting off again it gave the boys upstairs a chuckle. Although it did nothing for his self-esteem, it did place things in perspective.
He vowed that he and his fellow Team Rocket trio would do their best to provide entertainment for the troops. They may not catch them all, but in the end they could take pride in their ability to bounce back defeat after defeat. Their uniqueness lay in their constant ability to blast off with style under the most trying of circumstances.
