Summary: Dean is briefly homesick, but he realizes where his true priorities lie. Set in season 5. No spoilers.
It takes Dean Winchester twenty-seven years to realize that the last time he slept on a soft mattress was when he lived in Lawrence, Kansas.
He measures his lifetime in miles and motels, but it all starts to blend together after a while.
Dean just wants a break from this incessant peril, this obligatory wanderlust.
He sighs and settles down onto yet another uncomfortable motel bed as he fleetingly wishes for the comfort of a real home.
Dean glances over at Sam sleeping in the adjacent bed and smiles to himself.
Maybe he was wrong. Maybe this was home.
