Roxas woke up sleepily, turning over in his mess of sheets. It was much earlier then he usually woke up, but he couldn't sleep. Rubbing his eyes he pulled his feet over the side of his bed and proceeded to get dressed. Hopefully, since he was up so early, nobody would be in the kitchen and he could eat his breakfast in peace for once.
Upon entering the kitchen, Roxas was surprised to find Axel behind the counter with a flour-smudged face and an apron on. Axel never cooked, and he never got up this early to his knowledge. "A-Axel?" he stammered.
Axel looked up at the sudden appearance, relieved to see it was Roxas and not Zexion, or someone else that would completely ban him from the kitchen. He was actually happy to see him there. Out of everyone in the Organization, Roxas had to be his favorite. "Hey, Rox."
"Axel, are you cooking?" Roxas asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, why?"
"You…Never cook."
"Sure I do, in the morning sometimes, so I have the kitchen to myself. Speaking of that, why are you up so early?"
"Couldn't sleep." He muttered, taking a seat at the counter. He looked up into Axel's face. "You are covered in flour." He laughed.
Axel frowned. "Am I?" he asked, whipping his face with the back of his hand, which only resulted in him putting more flour on it. Roxas snickered, reaching over the table top to whip Axel's face. He showed him his hand. "See?"
Axel smiled. "Oh well." He turned around and put a tray of cookies into the oven to bake.
"Cookies for breakfast?" Roxas asked.
Axel smirked. "Why not?"
Roxas shook his head and laughed. "Whatever you say, Axel."
Axel whipped his hands on his apron before unfastening it and laying it on the counter. "Zexion's gonna be pissed pissed when he sees this." he muttered. Axel had been thinking a lot about the blonde lately, relationship wise. He wondered how to tell him, or if he wanted to tell him that he liked Roxas a bit more than as a friend. 'I probably sound like a pervert.' He thought grimly.
Roxas stared at him, his head cocked ever so slightly. "Somethin' on your mind, Axe?" he asked.
Axel looked up at him. "Oh nothing, nothing. I'm fine." He paused, "I don't know how-" he began, but the timer behind him interrupted him with it's insane beeping. His face fell. "Hold on…"
Roxas watched him as he slipped on mittens and pulled out the tray of cookies, setting them on the stove to cool. He was acting a little different today, or maybe it was just Roxas.
Axel stared down at the cookies, biting his lip. 'Maybe I shouldn't tell him. What if he ignores me afterward?' he thought. Aftr a few minutes, Roxas grew impatient. "Axel? You don't have to watch them cool you know." he said flatly.
Roxas stood up and walked around the edge of the counter, staring down at the cookies with Axel. He slowly peeled one off of the sheet. They were cool enough that Roxas could hold it without burning himself. He looked up at Axel. "You want one? Or are you gonna just stare at them all morning?" he asked playfully.
Axel smiled. "Can I just have half of that one? I'm not really hungry, but I want to try it."
Roxas nodded and ripped the cookie in half the best he could. He smiled and bit into his half, offering the other to Axel.
Axel licked his lips before he swiftly bit into Roxas' cookie while it was in his mouth, so far that their lips were touching. He smiled and pulled back. "I wanted that half."
Roxas stared up at him, blushing madly. He stood there dumbstruck for a moment before he suddenly grabbed onto Axel's cloak and pulled him into another kiss. "So did I."
