They couldn't believe it. Everything had led up to right now. Their past was far behind them now. Nothing was in their way. They were just Audrey and Seymour, at long last.

The house wasn't fancy. The walls were a simple white, and the floors were the same oatmeal color in most other houses. There were only two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It wasn't much, but it was perfect for them.

Of course, when one escapes a collapsing shop, they don't have time to gather their belongings. They had just gone furniture shopping the day before, after getting their marriage license, and even with the money they had received from the insurance company after Mushnik's fell, they didn't want to buy too much. Only enough to furnish the house, plus a radio and a small television.

Seymour and Audrey got married two days after leaving the city. The two didn't have much of a ceremony. They didn't know many people to invite at all, let alone in the suburbs. When they returned home after the wedding, they still wore their respective wedding clothes, having taken them in that morning to have them mended. Neither one was sure why. Maybe it was symbolic, or maybe they were just tired.

Seymour made himself comfortable on the couch, and Audrey sat down beside him. It was quiet, but a peaceful quiet. Seymour relished the moment, feeling more serene than he had felt in a long time- possibly ever. The quiet became a bit boring, however, and after a minute or two, Audrey clicked on the radio.

"I still can't believe it," she murmured. "After all this time, we're together, far away from Skid Row for good. It seems too good to be true."

Seymour nodded. "It is surreal, isn't it? This whole time, I've been afraid that all of this was some beautiful dream, and I'll wake up in Mushnik's basement."

Audrey gave her new husband a warm smile. "I completely unda'stand. I've dreamed about it for so long, and now it's all real."

The pair continued to talk for a while, forgetting their past as they lost themselves in the moment. There was plenty to worry about, but tonight was about them.

All of a sudden, the opening notes to "Can't Help Falling In Love" began to sail out from the radio and into the living room. Audrey stood.

"I love this song!" she exclaimed. Seymour smiled at her. He loved seeing her excited, even when it was over something as simple as something playing on the radio. Looking slightly shy, Audrey reached her hand out. "Do ya wanna dance?"

"I'd love to, but I've got two left feet," Seymour admitted. "I've never really danced before."

Audrey took his hand and he stood. "I can teach you." She moved close to him, moving his arms gently to her waist. She rested her own hands on his shoulders.

"Then ya just sway a little," she explained. Seymour was nervous, having never really danced for Audrey before, but he trusted her. He began to move his body left to right, as slowly as he could manage.

"There, ya got it," Audrey encouraged. Seymour's confidence grew, and he relaxed. Audrey rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. A grin split Seymour's face. This was what he had always wanted. Audrey had been such a wonderful presence in his life, and they were together now, and they were happy. They were free now, and they only needed one another.

"Can't Help Falling In Love" belongs to Elvis Presley. Also these characters aren't mine, obviously.
