Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha. But I wish I could find out the end sometime soon!
Here's topic #72/100 - Home. For an explaination of this challenge and the way I'm setting it up, check the first chapter of my "100 Topics Challenge: Naruto" story. (Shameless plug alert!) But, anyway, enjoy!

One word. That's all it is. So very easy to overlook. Yet it is one of the most important things in the world. Well, at least it is to him, because, you see, he has never had one before. At least, not one that he can really remember. Sure, he has little snippets of memory, but the faces have faded with the years, and the voices are quiet. He does remember one face and one voice perfectly, but he only has a few memories of that person to rely on. That doesn't exactly fit the common structure, now does it? And besides, those memories stop at six years old. So it doesn't really count as an established situation, anyway.
But now, now he has one. And he isn't about to let it go. He knows what he'd been missing, and he never wants to go back to that place again. He likes it here just fine, thank-you-very-much. It's here that he found what he had been looking for for so long. One doesn't just give up on that so easily, right? Here, he feels warm, cared for, and oh-so-happy. Happy? He had never thought he'd be able to say that about himself ever again. But it's true. He is happy. All because of just one little word.
Home.
Here, in her arms, with these people, he has found his home.
