Time travel was outlawed because of its use for criminal operations. I was what you would call a time traveler but I had a different purpose. I am a Time Killer. I go back in time and kill whoever I am assigned to kill. Being a Time Killer means running from the law and always having a bounty on your head. Time killers go back in time and hunt down their targets that they are assigned. Sometimes it's to steal or to get rid of criminal evidence. Whatever the case is the security forces all agree that Time Killers are bad.
One day I get a call from my boss, who says he has a new assignment for me. So I tell him to send me the information to my DB (database). When all the information is downloaded I go to my secret operations room in my mansion.
When I finally get to my secret room, I open up the equipment cabinet. Inside are Time Bombs, laser guns and other weapons that go with the current mission I am assigned. I take out the weapons that have been sent and, stare at them. Before me are keys, a gun I've never seen before, and a gas mask. After looking over my equipment I start to go through the information on my assignment.
From the information:
Mike you are about to go on a very special mission. Your assignment is to track down Michael Smith and eliminate him. Now I know you are probably wondering about the equipment I've sent you so ill explain. You are going to the time period of 2400 and yes this is in the future. In the year 2400 a galactic war is being raged by the Nervians (a hostile alien race) on the humans. Charles Harris is a general in command of the 100th bandit battalion. 100th bandit battalion consists of a bunch of outlaws, criminals and bounty hunters. Because of the new threat of the Nervians you will be doing lots of space travel which explains the gas mask. The keys are for a locker you will find during your mission containing special documents. We have already programmed the time machine for where you are going. Now listen no matter what you hear or what others say you must kill Michael Smith. Fail to complete this mission and there will be a lead given to the TimePolice that pertains to your whereabouts.
After reading the information packet I walk over to the time machine and turn it on. I push a few buttons on a mini screen, gather up my equipment, and step into the time machine. I press the green button and a bright light flashes for about 20 seconds, then it's over. After thinking for a minute I realize who my target is. Me. I am the target. For some reason I step back into the time machine and turn the dial to send me back to the time I was just in. I see the familiar bright light then it's gone stepping outside the time machine I see my boss and a dozen other Time Killers. Frozen still, I hear a dozen clicks then a dozen bangs.
And then I'm gone.
