A Demon's Meals

Man's P.O.V

"When a raven lands on your doorstep, your wife will be dead" said the man made of shadow.

"NO! She will suffer at your hand nevermore!" I yelled at the Demon. He merely laughed.

"Stupid human, she made a contract with me." He said "she wanted money and power." I dropped to my knees. The Demon's eyes flashed red,

"She offered her soul for these things; you will never see her again."

Seven years later

Demon's P.O.V

I shoved her against the wall, she had offered her body to me. As if I would touch a human, the vile and disgusting "dominant" species on earth. Blood dripped from the fresh cut on her face.

"What are you doing? I order you to stop this madness!" she screamed at me.

"Our contract is complete" I said "your soul is mine." She placed her hand on my chest as I ran my hand over her bare shoulder, my mark on her flesh…

Lenore's P.O.V

I screamed a scream that pierced the night, my soul, drawn from my body by a bloody demon. Darkness clouded my eyes as I left my body, I was plunged into eternal shadow, passing through the veil of life and death. Emptiness engulfed me, or rather what was left. A vast gaping hole, the only remains of my life. I regret nothing.

Raven's P.O.V

Her soul hadn't been the best of meals but satisfying nonetheless. I flew to the house of her husband and knocked.

"Lenore?"

And my soul from out

That shadow that lies

Floating on the floor

Shall be lifted –

Nevermore!

Epilogue

And our souls from out

Those shadows that lie

Floating on the floor

They shan't be lifted.

Nevermore.
