Piano.

Rose sat on the black piano stool lifted the lid on the ebony piano. It had been so long since she had played and her fingers itched to spread across the black and white keys. Rose reached over the right side of the stool, where the TARDIS had left her a stack of her favourite sheets. Pulling several from the stack, she pulled the stand down and spread the music along it. Gingerly laying her fingers onto the keys, Rose wished she had searched for this room earlier in her acquaintance with the Doctor as she was constantly correcting herself as she played.

Finishing Bach's First Prelude in C Major, Rose gathered the sheets and sat them behind the other three she had picked up on the stand. In front of her now, lay River Flows in You, a challenge she wished to accept. Once she moved to the second page, she began to feel the stress of the past days leave her and she sighed heavily. Rose ended the piece with a smile and remembered taking lessons from the kind lady, two doors down from the flat, who taught her to play and let her use the piano whenever she wanted. Rose had always used music as a means of expressing herself and relieving tension thus it was no surprise the TARDIS sensed it and gave her this room to play in.

Rose jumped slightly at the sound of a knock at the door to her left. The handle turned and the Doctor entered, a small shock apparent on his otherwise calm face. "Hey, my playing isn't that bad," she offered playfully, idly tapping a B flat with a nail on her right hand. "No- you never told me that you could play." The Doctor sat on one of the black lounges nearby. Rose smiled, "I guess the conversation never came up, between the running and fighting for our lives." It was the Doctor's turn to smile now, "Did you know that I can play?" he queried, hopping onto the stool beside her. "Heart and Soul, that's a duet you know, you can't play that by yourself." Rose took his left hand and brought it up to the keys, "Then by all means, Doctor, play with me."

A/N This was fun to write, I put some of myself into Rose here, in the music choice etc. but it's a cute one. If you love it or hate it or have a prompt for me, I'd love to hear from you!

Oh and…

Disclaimer: I don't own DW. Goodness knows what would happen if I did.
