The Metallix Arrival

Prologue

One month ago. In the distant void of outer space on a world made completely out of metal, a robot was being completed with a single mission being programmed into it. The robot was in a line of robots being made for deep space scouting missions, it looked identical to all of the other scouts that greeted it once it came off of the assembly line. The leader of the alien robots arrived to see the scout, he was covered in red armor and stood at least twelve feet tall. He was in a giant flying saucer that had a thrown built into it, the thrown was exposed and the fierce robot leader sat on it. All of the robots bowed to their emperor, except for the scout who was the focus of the emperor's attention. "Unit STC-MSCD-93, your sole purpose for existing is to scout the planet Mobius in the Sol System. Once there you will locate and if possible destroy the traitorous Dr. Oliver Eggman Robotnik. You'll show no mercy and if you fail to return, make sure the enemy can't learn anything about us or what I have planned. However should you be asked for identification, you'll surrender your existence to me and act as an extension of my will, and mine alone." The robot emperor said as he pointed at the robot, the robot came to his leader and looked up. The robot leader than pressed a finger into the head of his creation. The small robot's eyes flickered for a few seconds, and then it looked up and launched. It broke the ceiling of the factory it was created in, the robot had its sights set on only one man above all others in the universe. The robot leader was still in the factory, and noticed that workers began repairing the damage. "Oliver my old creator… You'll roe the day you abandoned me to the stars. Only to destroy those stars years later." The red robot's eyes glowed brightly with anger.

Chapter 1

No place like Mobotropolis

It was a nice and warm day on Westside Island, the island was a tropical paradise with many different regional Zones. Among those Zones is the Aquatic Ruins Zone, the massive Zone contained the ruins of an ancient civilization long lost to any and all historical records. Some people think the ruins were made by the Mobian Trolls, while others insist it was something else. Currently the ruins are home to Green the Hedgehog, a couple days ago he and his friends on Bygone Island defeated Lyric the Last Ancient. He returned home thanks to his parent's using their new airship that they claimed after Lyric was defeated. They were mostly using the former flagship for the purpose of studying ruins across the world, and Green gained many artifacts from the Ancient Ruins on Bygone Island. He learned about many of their secrets and had developed his own theory on why and how the Ancients all just vanished without a trace a thousand years ago.

While working on a report of his findings, in the safety of his shack made by his adopted uncle Fang the Sniper. The hedgehog got an urgent message from the Kingdom of Acorn through Nicolas the Holo-Lynx's handheld computer. Green was given the small computer and he pressed a button. "Green!" Princess Sally Acorn said, she looked concerned.

"What's up Sal?" Green asked his friend.

Sally then began to explain, "We don't know how or why. But a bunch of… Griffons just appeared out of thin air, there's thousands possibly millions of them!" Sally was using the handheld form of Nicole the Holo-Lynx in order to contact Green, she showed Green the griffons flying around the skies of Mobotropolis.

Green had well trained eyes, and he could tell that the griffons looked confused, and that many of them were frightened. "Have you tried talking with them?"

"Not yet, they seem very terrified." Sally said as she kept hidden from view of the griffons. "The Freedom Fighters are trying to calm them down. I think Cream might be able to get them calmed down enough to talk…"

Before Sally could finish, Green quickly loaded up some gear. "But you need me because I'm the export on beings from other dimensions right?" Green locked up his shack, he then began running down a pathway he made in the Zone he lived in.

"Exactly, and we have a feeling they might be connected to a dimension we know all too well." The princess said as she did her best to get a good look at the griffons. The size of the various griffons reminded her of a couple visits she and her friends made to a dimension full of magic.

Green understood what the princess meant, he nodded his head to her and ended the call. Within minutes Green and Nicolas arrived at Mobotropolis, they weren't too surprised when they saw all of the griffons outside of the city. Thankfully since they talked with the princess, the situation calmed down to being more manageable. There were still a few dozen griffons that were flying around in panic, but Cream & Cheese were working on calming them down. Green saw Princess Sally and the other Freedom Fighters talking with a group of the griffons, Green noticed Sonic, Tails and Amy were absent from the team which meant they were likely off on another adventure. Green slowly walked up to the Freedom Fighters, in an attempt to not startle the griffons in the area. "An honor to once again meet my fair princess." Green said with a bow, he was trying to show manners towards his royal friend. While also keeping calm and making sure the griffons were alright.

The princess was never use to her friends addressing her by her title, even if it was meant with good intentions she preferred to just be called Sally by her friends. But she understood why Green used her title, "an honor to once again meet you Sir Green." She said with a smile, she then looked to the griffons. "This is the expert I mentioned in regards to other dimensions. His name is Green Hedgehog, and he is one of my most trusted of researchers and knights. He can help you all."

A tall griffon who looked like the leader stepped forward, he looked at Green with wise looking eyes. He had the head of a spotted owl, and looked both wise and fierce. "Greetings Sir Green, I am Lord Decimal of the noble house of Librarians. It's an honor to meet you." The griffon sounded like he was old, older than his looks would've suggested.

Green bowed to Lord Decimal. "An honor to meet you as well Lord Decimal." When Green thought about what he just heard, he realized that the owl griffon's name was regarding the Dewey Decimal System used in all libraries. He had so many questions to ask the griffons, because griffons are his favorite mythological hybrid creatures. But he put away his curiosity for the moment, "I'm honored to meet you and your noble people. And I'll do what I can to provide you all with help."

The griffons seemed to approve of Green so far, Lord Decimal cleared his throat before continuing. "So you know how we all ended up here?" He asked, it was clear that he and all the other griffons were asking that question.

Green looked at Lord Decimal's talons for a moment, he took note of how they scratched up the earth they rested upon. He then began his task of figuring out how the griffons arrived, "the first thing we need to do is gather up information. Lord Decimal, do you mind if I ask you what you and your people were doing prior to your arrival?"

Lord Decimal looked like he would've fainted, but that brief moment went by so fast only Green noticed. Lord Decimal puffed up his plumage for a moment, he then took a deep breath. "We… We remember enjoying a nice and peaceful day on our island city in the skies. We were among the best…" Lord Decimal stopped speaking a moment, it seemed like he was about to explain what his home was like. But he refrained himself, he then continued remembering the circumstances of his people's arrival. "But our day experienced some kind of light… It was bright and it felt like our day was just repeating itself… Until…"

Green noticed that the owl griffon was shivering a bit, "until?" He asked hoping his voice snapped Lord Decimal out of his pause.

The old griffon closed his beautiful brown eyes, he looked like he would've cried had he not opened them. "Then we felt… So many powerful emotions… Fear… Sadness… Confusion… And anger… The feelings were so strong."

Green took a step back as he noticed Lord Decimal grab at the ground with his talons. "Those feelings… What caused them?"

Lord Decimal continued, "It was caused by an insidious machine. Made by one of our finest inventors… He had the best of intentions… Like all of us…" The owl griffon looked very sad, but he knew that he had to tell the hedgehog everything he remembered. "We all felt like our bodies were gone… We could just move through anything… At one point it felt like we were all a mass of one entity of sadness, confusion, fear, anger and regret. There were equines trying to help us…" He then made a sad whoot. "We were hearing that we became ghosts… But then all of our sadness and other bad feelings ended. We felt like individuals again and floated into the skies… Our legs were vanishing and before we knew it… We all vanished…"

Green could tell that the griffons had a very traumatic experience. He felt sympathy for all of them, "I understand…" He said as he gently put a hand near the griffon, Lord Decimal looked at Green wasn't sure if he should try and hug the griffon or not. He refrained and then began to think, "Whatever made you all feel better again. It must've been what sent you here. Maybe whatever sent you, knew that I'd be able to help you all out." Green said as he offered a hand to shake the bird hand of Lord Decimal.

Lord Decimal suddenly shook his hand, he then made sure his feathers were properly in place. "I don't know about that… But perhaps I can help my people calm down so we can discuss things more civilly." Green nodded to Lord Decimal, he then helped gather up his people and they went into Mobotropolis. The largest place that could fit them all was the colosseum, which was thankfully empty for the day.

While the griffons were being looked after by the Freedom Fighters, and various doctors and other people that helped with relief efforts. Green got to meet his uncle Jules the Hedgehog, and his aunt Bernadette "Bernie" the Hedgehog. He met them at their home where Sonic lived, he was glad to meet them again after learning that they were in fact relatives of his. "Green the Hedgehog. Nice to see you again." Jules said with a big grin. Since the Time of Miracles happened, Jules was turned back into a normal Mobian thanks to Nazo and his body was completely healed. Jules knew all too well that Nazo was really Green the Hedgehog and vice versa. "I got news that my sister Midori is alive."

"You heard right, Uncle Jules." Green said with a big grin as he shook hands with Jules.

"To be honest, I didn't know Midori had a kid before the war." Jules said as their handshake ended. The hedgehog then guided Green to a chair in the dining room. "But she was always so secretive… I didn't even know she was married until the day of the wedding." Jules tone suggested he was joking with his nephew.

Green happily sat down in a chair, he saw his aunt come in with a tray of cookies and tea. "Coming from the guy who married me in the middle of combat. That's saying something." Bernadette had a sly look on her face as she looked to her husband while putting the tray down.

"There wasn't a more dramatic way to do it." Jules had a cheeky look on his face.

(I knew Sonic got his smart Alek nature from someone.) Green thought to himself with a grin as he took a cookie. "So did Sonic spoil all of the news on the fact I'm your nephew?"

"That he did Green." Jules said as he took a sip of some tea. He was grateful he no longer needed to drink only oil in order to live, it felt good having an organic body again. And Jules was thankful for everyday he had an organic body.

"And you're always welcome in our house Green." Bernadette said as she slowly enjoyed a cup of tea. She had a feeling that Green wouldn't be around long, and was taking her time to enjoy the moment with her nephew at her home, this was the first time he was in her home as family.

Jules looked to Green and took a cookie from the plate on the table. "For the record, you've always been family to us Green." He took a bite out of a cookie, he chewed and swallowed before continuing. "We just learned you're biologically related. Regardless, you've always been family to us. You've done so much and hardly asked for anything in return." Jules looked at his left hand for a moment. "We're truly blessed to have someone like you in our lives."

Green closed his eyes for a moment, he took a moment to slowly enjoy a cookie. He then remembered that by now Lord Decimal would be waiting for him in the palace. "I'd love to stay, but I have a royal appointment. Need to work out diplomacy with the griffons." Green said with a grin as he got up from the chair.

His aunt and uncle understood, they wished him good luck. They stood at the doorway of their home, and watched as Green dashed off. Later at the palace, King Acorn, Princess Sally and Nicole were talking with Lord Decimal and the griffons that were the leaders of the city the griffons came from. Green arrived just as the meeting began, "sorry I'm late everyone." Green said as he took a seat at the table where everyone was discussing the living arrangements for the griffons. While talking the matter over, Green mentioned the Cloud Sanctuary Island that was once home to the Ancients, since the griffons preferred living in a place that reminded them of home. The Cloud Sanctuary seemed like a good place, especially since the griffons would be protected from threats with help from Green's family.

After the meeting had ended, everyone stepped outside to give the good news to the people. But then all of a sudden, the sky lit up! It looked like it was on fire! Everyone watched as a stellar object came crashing down in front of Mobotropolis.
