An Eight/Teen Rose Story

The Eighth Doctor kicked the TARDIS again, hoping it would kick-start the engine. He wondered why the TARDIS would appear in Early 21st Century Earth. Certainly nothing on this day was historic. At least, not that he knew of, but he knew the TARDIS had a reason for this stop after all.
He asked Charley to wait inside the TARDIS for him. He didn't know why, but he just felt something tell him it was the right thing to do.
He looked at his ship. Of course, the old girl had told him that. He trusted her.
After almost an hour in London and about ready to head back to the TARDIS, he heard someone crying. Her heartbreak almost brought him to tears. He remembered the last time he felt that way: when he knew he wouldn't see Susan again.
He followed the sound of the sobs and found a blond teenage girl sobbing alone on a park bench. He knew he shouldn't read her mind without her knowledge, but it was too late.
He forced himself not to cry.
"May I?" he asked the girl, gesturing to the empty side of the bench.
She nodded.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked.
"You don't even know me."
"Not yet," he said, "but I promise I won't judge you. I'm The Doctor by the way—Doctor John Bowman."
"You from the clinic?"
"No."
The girl cried harder.
"You want me to find your parents?"
The girl quieted. It seemed he knew without her telling him. At least she had one person to confide in, even if she didn't even know him. She stilled her sobs, ignoring her pain. Finally, resolve. "My mum will never forgive me for doing something so stupid. Always knew Jimmy was now good. At least it's over now."

In one of the most tragic days of her life, Rose met the one person who would make it all better. She wouldn't give up, not after meeting this Doctor. Others may say that she met this Doctor again. Whether or not those tales are true, Rose met another Doctor not too many years after this first one. He was fantastic, absolutely fantastic, and she wouldn't have changed it for the world.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Yes, I am being vague about what happened, but leave it to your imagination. I'm sure many of you can guess what clinic she went to. As for my tales, you can all read Rose's many adventures with the Eighth Doctor.
