I don't own anything here.
Barry sat silently and unmoving in his wheelchair. He was alone, staring at a plain white wall in the Cortex. It had been a few days since Zoom broke his back and he hasn't even tried to use his legs.
The CSI knew he would heal, the rational part of his brain reminded him of that every day. The people around him told him that, but his confidence in himself was broken with his back.
It was times like this he wished he could call upon his alter ego's endless confidence, not the Flash. Sebastian Smythe. Sebastian probably would be back to dancing by now.
Sure, Sebastian was a rich a-hole, but he was confident in everything he did. And that confidence was what Barry needed right now.
Thinking about Sebastian lead to Barry thinking about the Warblers and New Direction (They would be so disappointed in him right now). It put a slight grin over his depressed frown. They may have been rivals and at each other's throats all the time, but Barry (or Sebastian) had fun singing and dancing against them.
Barry smiled brightly as he remembered singing Smooth Criminal with Santana. Those cello players were super into it.
Even though singing Bad ened with someone getting seriously injured at his hands, it was one of his favorite moments. Nothing like singing in a dark, abandoned, parking garage to show how well they can actually work together.
"Come on, stand, up again
Stand, you're gonna run again."
Barry muttered the lyrics under the hand he was using to cover his mouth. He could almost see the Warblers singing and dancing to the song.
"Don't give up,
You're gonna see tomorrow.
That you'll be on your feet again."
The man sat up straighter in the wheelchair as he sang, no longer hunched like before.
"Sometimes the world's gonna knock you over,
But you will see who are your friends."
He can feel his confidence slowly rising. The more Barry's confidence rose the louder and smoother he sang. It felt like the Warblers were right behind him, encouraging him.
"Come on, stand, up again
Come on, stand
Stand, you're gonna run again."
"Your faith and patience will be your soldiers
To guide you through your troubled times."
Barry moved his hands to grip the arms of the wheelchair. Singing Stand gave him past confidence.
"Just put one foot in front of the other."
"The battles are inside your mind."
"You have the power to face your demons."
"No matter how they go at times."
With a push Barry stood in front of the wheelchair he once sat in. his legs were a bit wobbly at first from lack of use, but they were fine seconds later.
"And rid yourself of your fear and weakness
So you can start to live you life."
"Come on, stand, up again
Come on, stand,
Stand you're gonna run again."
Barry's grin was filled with happiness. He took a step forward, then another, and snother. Soon he was walking around the Cortex.
"Thanks guys."
Had to post thins before someone else did :)
