A Moment Of Clarity

She hid in the shadows, blurring into the darkness. She was two towns over from her home…her prison.

She needed to disappear, as though she had never existed. It was hard when you didn't have anyone to rely on…to trust. Her mother had made sure of that.

She had grabbed her cloak one night and ran.

She had rode her horse into the night, with the dust at her heals, never to turn back.

Tonight though, she would rest. It had been a long day and she needed time, to think, to plan.

She hadn't thought beyond this point, then again, she didn't think she would get this far, away from her mother, from her old life.

She sat at a bar drinking the night away. Thinking that finally she had gotten away.
