"Luce, don't leave me, I need you." Natsu pleaded. Her warm eyes were losing the life and spark once there as she told Natsu, "Natsu, promise me you'll keep Nashi safe from harm. My time is over." He couldn't stand seeing her like this, her body torn by the wood that had pierced her stomach and split her in half. "Luce! Don't leave me! Please, I need you!" Natsu said, as felt a hand strike his face, when he looked up he saw a woman with scarlet hair. "Erza." He muttered. "Natsu, she's gone, and she's not coming back. Please accept that. When we return we will have a proper funeral."
Natsu picked her lifeless body as they traveled back to fairy tail. Natsu busted the wooden doors open with his foot. The guild was about to shout welcome back until they saw Lucy in his arms.
Master Makarov walked towards saying, "Natsu, is she still alive?" Natsu's eyes darken as he said "Lucy is dead." At first everyone was silent, then tears were falling out of everyone's eyes, even the great Laxus was crying over the loss of his nakama.
At Lucy's funeral, everyone was in a massive fit of tears. Levy was sobbing into Gajeel's arms over the loss of her best friend. Nashi, only 7 months, didn't know why everyone was so sad. Natsu stayed the longest after everyone, but that day he swore that he saw Lucy's ghost,she was wearing a light blue tank top and brown capri pants saying, "Smile for me Natsu."
