Hey everyone! So here's the alternative ending, which will show you what would happen if Ryuichi were to choose Hinamori. It's a just-for-fun, what-if spin off that is not part of the actual series at all. It just shows you a what-if situation pretty much, as well as show you my initial plan (which had been re-vamped a little to include Ruby). Also, if you haven't read Inherited Nightmares, it's highly recommended that you do so. I promise you that you'll enjoy it =) Hope you all enjoy!

Inherited Nightmares – Alternative Ending
He paused when he saw Ruby in the corner of his eye, but returned to his train of thought as he kept his attention onto Hinamori. "They say love is knowing what's best for the other person," Ryuichi said, "and this is why," he smiled as he reached out his hands to gently grasp Hinamori's, "I choose you."
Hinamori was glowing with excitement. Did he just say that he loved her? It was like a dream that had come true. "Are...you serious?" She stammered without thinking. Her voice was almost muted, but it was loud enough for Ryuichi to hear.
"Yes," he said with a nod. "I assure you that I'm going to protect you with all my strength. You may be hundreds of years older than me, but my love for you has no age. We will find a way to make this work. All I ask for is your permission to allow me in your world as your lover."
Instead of giving an answer, Hinamori flung her arms around Ryuichi's neck and planted her lips against his. Ryuichi continued to smile as he returned her kiss and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her against him as firmly but as gently as possible.
Hinamori slipped her tongue into Ryuichi's mouth, and he let it in willingly. He rubbed his hands on Hinamori's back as he trailed his kisses towards her neck. Hinamori gasped and tilted her head back as chills moved up and down her body. She missed this; she needed this, and she was positive that her new lover had been anticipating it as well.
Nearby, Ruby smiled at the newly-formed couple for a moment longer before turning away. She could admit that she had wanted Ryuichi for herself, but she was also happy for him as well as for her superior. After all, she knew that they would get together sooner or later.
She walked towards the Fourth Division Barracks where her brother was in recovery. Someone will fall in love with her eventually, but now all what she has is her brother, her only family.
"I may have grown to appreciate you, Ryuichi," she said to herself as she turned back to Ryuichi and Hinamori, "but you're still an egotistical brat." She chuckled to herself as she continued walking.
And that's it! I know it wasn't very long, but it was very sweet indeed (maybe a little cheesy, but oh well haha). Coming up next is another IchiRuki lemon story that had been inspired by the best IchiRuki moment in Bleach history – Happy Reunion. Unlike the rest of my one-shots, this story is not a songfic. I still am looking forward to writing it though. In the meantime, however, let me know what you think of this!
