Disclaimer: I don't own The Vampire Diaries.
I warn you at the beginning – it's my first real story written in English so it can be full of mistakes. I beg you for mercy to my poor writing... I'd be grateful for showing me my mistakes.
Tic-tac.
Blood was everywhere. It covered walls, floor and even the ceiling.
Tic-tac.
Death was creeping from every corner of the room. Death caused by him. Or he just thought that he was the culprit, because he didn't remember anything. He felt bittersweet taste of blood on his tongue and sweet burning in his throat. He saw consequences of events from the last night. But he didn't know what he had done hours, minutes, even seconds before.
Tic-tac.
He was lying on the floor feeling so heavily as a human after too big dinner. And in fact the situation was resemble – he had had a huge feast. But nothing in him was human. Especially in that moment.
Tic-tac.
Harsh sound of the old clock came to his ears. Time was passing next to him, like it didn't see his presence. He didn't mind that.
Tic-tac.
He felt cold inside. His mind was still and calm. No fiery feelings, no sense of guilt. Nothing at all. It was strange, but he found it rather refreshing. After years of fighting with his own nature, after years of denying who he really was he felt free. And he liked it. Nothing confined his soul. Even memories faded in a very quick pace as if they wanted to leave his brain as soon as possible. He didn't mind that.
Tic-tac.
Few pictures of past flew through his mind. There was a happy young girl on the most of them. He felt something like a little needle in his heart, but this feeling disappeared when the new wave of delicious smells came to his nostrils. Fresh blood. In that moment it was worth everything, even forgetting all past years. But the pictures were still there, one part of him didn't want to threw them out. This part missed the girl. Missed the feelings, missed this place he used to call home.
But this part of his personality was in minority. Human in him has been slowly killing since his departure.
New blood made him unable to resist. Human lost the battle.
Tic-tac.
He slowly stood up, looking at the crime scene. Guilt tried to talk to him, but he bottled it up. There should be no guilt. There should be only entertainment and freedom.
He found the source of fresh blood. His tusks reached the neck of his prey. Blood filled his body and whole mind. Human was going to lose the war.
"Isn't that good feeling to be finally free of all bonds of humanity?" Klaus' cold voice broke the silence.
He lifted his head and look at the oldest vampire. For a short moment he felt something like admiration and pride that he was a companion of someone so powerful. He threw his victim away, although there was some blood left to drink. He was ready to go.
„Why are you in such a big hurry?" Klaus smiled and destroyed the clock with one movement. The device managed to make its last "tic-tac" before dying. "We have whole decades to entertain your new freedom."
He smiled too. There was nothing in his empty eyes but enormous lust for blood. Human blood.
„We have whole eternity..." He corrected, feeling in the air new opportunity of starting a new feast.
For that very moment "pleasure" was about to become his second name.
