He gave a soft sigh as he watched the rain slowly trickle down the window, the glass steamed up from the water. Just over an hour ago it had been so warm, ice creams melted the moment they were bought and little over half an hour ago, the heavens had decided to open up and pour their contents on the unsuspecting world.
A knock at the door jerked him from his thoughts and he turned towards it. He barely had time to take a couple of steps when it burst open and Aeris greeted him with a large, playful smile, which immediately had him unconsciously taking a step backwards.
"What's wrong?" he asked, looking her up and down for any sign that she was distressed. Her smile grew wider as she placed her hands behind her back and leaned him towards him.
"Want to go on a date?" she asked softly. Cloud's eyebrows shot up as his face burned. He continued to stare at the Cetra as she awaited an answer. After about a minute of silence, he scratched the back of his head.
"What?" he asked. She rolled her eyes playfully.
"A DA-TE! or haven't you ever been on one?"
"Not a real one," he muttered sheepishly, looking down to avoid her gaze. She just shook her head and gave a small smile.
"Just a mixed up kid," she sighed before moving to stand behind Cloud. Before he could protest, she gave him a small shove towards the door. "Come on, let's go!"
Cloud gave a half-hearted attempt of fighting her because in truth, he quite liked the idea of being alone with her. He was still nervous though and he suddenly stopped halfway down the corridor. Aeris raised an eyebrow as she took in Cloud's blank expression.
"What's wrong?" she questioned, moving to stand just inches from him. Cloud gave a small sigh and made a troubled face.
"I...What if I make a fool of myself?" he asked and his fears were only heightened when Aeris gave a small giggle.
"Oh, Cloud, we all do stupid things. Don't worry about it," she insisted, taking his hand tenderly in hers. Cloud opened his mouth to add more onto his worrys but Aeris had softly pressed her lips against his.
It only lasted a couple of seconds but it had the effect the flower girl wanted. He had a cute blush across his cheeks and he seemed to have calmed down considerably. She smirked a little to herself, leading the bewildered blonde after her. She always knew that a kiss could calm anyone down.
