Kill
Again. Levi saw the blood. He saw the bodies falling, their flesh ripped apart. Again, he saw something that he promised he would never see again. Blood and gore splattered the walls. The faces were gone. As Levi stared and gaped in horror, he felt a shudder within him. It was just like before. Only this time, he had actually seen it happen. He had been there, but he had been able to do nothing. Levi still had dreams about them. He felt for a moment that they were alive, or that he had saved them, but once he woke up, he knew that the dream was an illusion. Levi still recalled all of them. Gunther, who had been serious and dedicated as hell. Oluo, with his ridiculous imitation of him. And Petra… His squad, who had died because of his choice. And now Levi was facing that hell once again. The shock and despair turned into rage as he faced his enemy. He didn't even fathom the words the man was speaking. All he thought about was one word. Kill. The word echoed in his mind again. Kill. This was the first time in a long time he had felt such unrestrained urge to kill. Yes, he had wanted to kill every Titan that had killed his childhood friends, Isabel and Farlan. Yes, he had wanted to kill the Female Titan, who had slaughtered his squad. He had never felt this much rage before though. It burned inside him.
Levi had lost many people. He had lost his mother when he was three, murdered before his own eyes. He still remembered, crouching and terrified, when a then unknown man picked him up and told him that he was going to make him protect him and make him proud. Then he had lost his childhood friends, who had been killed during an expedition in the Survey Corps. Countless people, faces blurred in his mind, died as well. He still had their patches. He had lost his squad – no, his family, and he hadn't even been with them when they died. And now he had lost another one of the people who he had vowed to protect. As he charged forward, Levi didn't think. He didn't think about his past or what was about to come. He didn't think about how foolish his situation was, or of – he didn't think at all.
Levi charged toward his adversary, a soundless scream within him, his eyes solely focusing on his former teacher before him. His father.
