Scourge looked over his shoulder at the rotten fence being battered down by the huge dogs, then looked back at Night with an evil grin on his face. No. She screamed in her head. She would have yowled it out loud for all of Twolegplace to hear, but Scourge's claws where shoved into her neck, making blood pour out of the harsh gash.
He lifted his bloody paw out of her wound, and flicked his tail to the moving fence. "Lets play a game." He growled, beginning to lick the blood off his paw. "It's a race between you, and the dogs. The goal is to get out of this alley before the fence gives way, and the dogs get free. The winning prize is your life, but if you fail to succeed, you are dog food."
Night lay, gasping for breath as Scourge leapt away on top of a trash-can, and onto the top of a brick wall. She saw his icy blue eyes stare coldly with hatred at her as she heaved her limp body off the ground. She started to make her way- slowly- toward the exit of the alleyway, choking with the effort of breathing. The air felt bitter with death, and the sound of barking of killer dogs and chains dragging on the earth began getting fainter and fainter… until the splintering of wood and deadly howling ripped the air. Night began running with all her strength, which there was not much left of. Suddenly, she felt sharp fangs tear through her fur, and was hurled into the air, and as the pain began growing and growing, becoming much worse than death, the world gave way to a dizzying darkness, and she felt no more pain.
