The Rubix Cube

Kagome sat in her sleeping bag playing with the rubix cube she'd brought from her time. Sota had solved his in 4 hrs and if he could do it so could she. Every other normal person in the world, and the non-normal as well, had gone to bed long ago. She finally completed one side when Sesshoumaru walked into the clearing.

"You're awake at this hour?" he asked raising one eyebrow.

"I'm an insomniac."

"A what?"

"I have trouble falling asleep."

"..."

"That and this stupid rubix cube."

"Stupid what?"

"A rubix cube, it's a puzzle." Kagome held up the colorful plastic cube,"You have to get all the squares of one color on one side. Sota can do it in four hours; I'm not gonna lose to him."

"Who?"

"My little brother."

"And this is what's causing you stress?"

"Yes, this thing's impossible."

"Let this Sesshoumaru try."

"Knock yourself out, I'm not getting anywhere fast." Kagome said tossing him the puzzle.

Sesshoumaru sat there for a couple of hours twisting it. Then he looked up and smiled.

"This Sesshoumaru has figured it out."

"Really? Let me see."

Sesshoumaru held out the still mismatched cube. Kagome looked confused, then the Western Lords hand started to glow and the cube melted away to nothing.

"Puzzle solved."

"Hey! You owe me a new one." Kagome said. Sesshoumaru, again, raised one eyebrow.

"Here." Kagome pulled another cube out of her bag, "No poison-melty-thingy-mer-bob this time. They're gonna wake up soon so you better go, give it back to me when you've solved it."

"Slave driver." Kagome said climbing out of the well. She had guaranteed herself at lest two days of peace, but why did all of her and InuYasha's fights have to end with him six feet under, or more? As she walked out of the well house she saw a man sitting on the setps to the enterance of the shrine.

"Um… can I help you?" She asked walking up to him.

"Hello Kagome." He said looking up at her with bright amber eyes.

"Do I know you?"

"One second." He turned back to what ever it was in his hands. A few moments later he turned back to her and smiled, "Solved it."

He handed her a rubix cube. She looked at him confused,

"And I belive I owe you this." He handed her a second one.

"Huh?"

"You're the one who said I owe you a new one, sence I melted your other, five hundred years ago."

"Sesshoumaru?"

He nodded.

Kagome doubled over in laughter.

"What?"

"It took you five hundred years to solve this thing?"

"Oh, shut up."
