"Ouch!"

"Amy, you can open your eyes now."

The Doctor glanced up at Amy, who had hit her head- again. River had been trying to persuade her to open her eyes for several minutes.

Amy shook her head, closing her eyes tighter. "I used up my countdown when I looked at the crack. I'll die."

"No you won't," he called up. "Open them, Amy!"

"But what if the angel's still there?"

"It's gone. It was never there. It fell into the time energy with the others. You're safe, I promise."

Amy frowned. "I don't want – argh!" she slipped, hanging for a second before River pulled her back in.

"This would be a whole lot easier if you just do what the Doctor says, you know."

She stuck out her tongue in response.

The Doctor grinned. "Well, it's not my fault if you slip and go plunging to your death. Just remember, I did say you could open your eyes."

"You're bad, you are," Amy muttered.

"I know," he said cheerily, climbing down the shaft.
