The curse of three brothers
That I alone share
One from each line
That meets only in death
Destined to die
Destined to go mad
Hidden for a lifetime, from this world's Death
The eldest of the brothers
He was strong and true
Unstoppable in battle
His wand was the clue
He won any battle, any duel, any strife
And then he met his beautiful wife
Soon they were married
And he fathered an heir
Then he was disarmed
And it led to his death
The middle Brother, he
Was faithful and kind
One who spent out his days
Speaking to his dead bride
He never married, never again
So he remained alone in life
And though he never fathered a child of his own
There was a young village boy
That he favored
And took as his heir
Now the youngest brother, he
Was the wisest of all
He only wanted
To be left alone
And so he grew up and he grew old
His family large
Spread throughout the world
And when he had felt that his time had come
And all his children were grown and strong
He shed his protection
And met Death on that road
Where they greeted each other as friends of old
Now, oh, brothers three
Please hear my cries
Turn back from your ways
Lead peaceful lives
For the things you have done
Have condemned your lines
And all that remains
Are my brother and I
Antioch, my brother, your line ended first
As your children died
Leaving their heirs all alone
A cycle such as this
Could never last long
And soon had died
Everyone of your blood
Only one had escaped
The only daughter of yours
Cadmus, kind sir, your line was next
Though the heir you named
Was happy and blessed
He had many children
And they spread wide and far
But there is a force
That none can escape
And so when war broke out
It demolished your race
Once again a child escaped
This time it was a son
And he lived in fear
Of all that roamed
Ignotus, my friend, your line is last
Only one remains
A son as well
His parents dead
Their killer after him as well
But this young son
He has your smarts
And time after time
Death he does thwart
But I know, just as you
Once welcomed Death
So too will he
When he meets his end
So my brothers three
Only I am left
To bear the curses
Your gifts have left
From Antioch I carry a burdened knowledge
That never will I watch my children grow
And Cadmus, you have given me
A paranoid sense that someone is always after me
Ignotus has given me my brother
Someone with whom I can share
All my pain
And even more so than that
He has given me his protection
Shielding me from an early grave
And though it means
That I must live through this torture
I'm grateful for this chance
To watch and protect
For with this young generation
Lays the future of our world
The curse of these three brothers
Runs forever in my veins
Death from one
Madness from another
And wisdom from the third
And so I'm not complaining
For these curses I do freely bear
If doing so will give me
The chance to make amends
