A moment in time when I stop in my tracks to look around, and through a slit in time, happiness smiles at me, bright and glistening.
I smile back and feel a hope rising inside.
For a second, as time has stopped, and through that slit where I watch happiness smile back at me, everything falls back in place, and the mirror is no longer shattered and aged.
Just a short moment.... a faint smile... sheer joy...and then it crumbles back again.
