A/N: I am so tired of being consumed by these one shots. So tired. But yeah, crazy events call for crazy writings. In which Derek learns how to hold a girl, Casey learns what a real friend is, and Derek learns that life does not revolve around hook-ups. And thank you guys, for the reviews for Vulnerable and Princess!
It's like a nightmare. A really crazy, waking nightmare.
Because he's never seen anything like this before.
A sheriff's car, and an ambulance, and a truck, and people. Edwin and Lizzie.... thank Jesus, Marti was at a friend's house across town, and there were four people standing there.
Two parents, sitting in the ambulance, headed off to whatever hospital was closest.
And the tears. God, the tears.
He didn't deal with this stuff. It wasn't his style.
Wasn't his style to have a girl in his arms.... honest.
He didn't hold girls. He made out with them. That was all.
But the closeness couldn't be more necessary. She was crying, and he was shaking, and Lizzie and Edwin were hugging each other, and it was the least he could do.
And the last thing he remembered anyone saying... it was her, asking him, in the smallest voice imaginable... "D? Can I have a hug?"
And for once, without an argument, he gives in.
Because he's never, ever dealt with anything like this before.
He's not sure if the closest thing he's ever had to a real mom is going to live. The baby and all – and all he heard was the word 'complications', and his dad is gone in the ambulance, and they're waiting for their ride to the hospital, but all you'd see if you looked at their front porch is four terrified teens.
And he hears Edwin sniffle. But he won't tell on him if Edwin keeps his mouth shut about him crying into Casey's hair.
Because he refuses to admit it to anyone, but yeah, his eyes were pretty wet when she asked him if he was okay.
But, being the good boy for once in his life, he just nods, trying to be the stronger one.
Who the hell is he to pretend?
He's not the stronger one, and he damn well knows it.
He has a new little brother now.
And sister. But hell, how was he supposed to know Nora was having twins when they didn't even know?
Her name is Aaliyah Gold Venturi. His name is Triumph Joseph Venturi.
And she's going to be another, even more stunning version of something between his Casey and his Smarti.
While he, Derek's pretty sure, is going to inherit Derek's dashing good looks and Edwin's brains. Because the kid's fricking cute. And he's got really fuzzy hair like Derek too.
And while he's never going to admit to his little brother and sister that they were the reason he finally got a clue and started dating their big sister, he's very glad for them. Because they're the reason he figured out his life.
A/N: I thought it was a good ending. And the angst was the best part in the beginning. It's so amazing. Please tell me you liked it too, cuz I'm not exactly sure about the ending.... but I did like it. Please review!!
