Finally

Ginny POV on Harry

She had only ever wanted his eyes to look at her, to see her as someone special, someone other than just Ron's little sister, anything, to see those eyes filled with love.

Well, she got her wish.

But maybe not how she meant it.

She saw his eyes full of pity in the Chamber, and after.

She saw his eyes as they saw her as something special on the quidditch pitch.

She saw his eyes see her as a friend, a confident.

And she saw his eyes filled with love, or perhaps lust.

For Cho.

But never for her.

She waited years.

Lifetimes.

And so, when a month, or a year, or an hour, she could no longer tell how much time had passed since that moment on May 2nd that she saw him, dead, and inside, her soul died,

He looked at her.

And for the first time, after losing everything,

Fred,

Tonks,

Remus,

Dumbledore, his parents, Sirius, even months, years, days, before...

Even Snape.

Finally, finally, those stunning green eyes, framed by glasses and jet-black hair turned on her in love.

And she finally had all she ever wanted.

At a price.

The price of loved ones, the cost of that final battle, that necessity to destroy Voldemort, so Harry could be free.

Free, at long last, to love.

So? Thoughts? Let me know! (I know a particular friend of mine will have quite a few-you know who you are ;)
