The train ride, which was taking me to places I had never been before, was going on for forever and the bright lights of Paris seemed a million miles away.
(but no one can be bored watching the unknown flaw by their eyes)
"Would you care to see a magic trick, it is a long way left to go and I'm bored out of mind."
It took a bit for me to take my eyes off the window, all the wonderful new sights flashing by waiting for me to explore them (while leaving behind my normal world), but it was a good thing I did.
(now my eyes were filled with that large smile of his, he who was something else to explore)
"Well, you, sir, are not the only one. Who knew going to France would take such a damn long time?"
The whole idea of me, Peyton Elizabeth Sawyer forever stuck in Tree Hill, on her way to France seemed like an impossible thing but finally talking about it made it more real.
(it was a dream when I said goodbye to Luke and bought a train ticket to freedom)
"Me, this is my second time around and it getting there is the hardest part, Miss Sawyer."
My unlived dreams and I thought I would never get the chance to live them were unfolding right before my eyes and meeting Jess happened to be one of them.
(not him exactly but he fits the requirements)
"So what magic trick would you like to show me, Mr. Mariano?"
I kept my eyes locked on those hands of his, that would later on laced in my own walking the great streets of Paris, and watched as an apple appeared out of thin air.
"Hungary?"
(goddamn that smile and how it made my insides turn to mush)
"Starved, Mr. Magic man."
He placed that shiny red apple in my open hand, and I thought the first thing I ate would be something French and we both took a bite of it at the same time.
