"No Castle please let me go!" She screams as he carries her out of there. She kicks and fights and struggles against him, but he holds her tight. And when they're at the car he leans her against the door, apologizing and helping keep her quiet as she cries and begs. And they both hear the shots begin.
"Castle" She said softly looking at him, so scared and vulnerable and upset. He's never seen her so broken up, thinking this is what she must have looked like when her mother died. It kills him inside as another round of shots begins. And for just a moment, he pictures her laying there knowing that if he hadn't come she would have fallen right alongside her captain. She isn't struggling anymore, she's crying. Then there's silence, and she stops moving altogether. It's only after the absolute silence that he moves. She stands up straight and runs inside crying. He leans against the car, her scared, beautiful, fragile face still in his mind. She runs inside, immediately to her captain, and when he comes in she's crying beside him. He slowly makes his way over to them. He kneels down beside her, putting his arm gently on her shoulder. She looks over at him, tears leaving clear paths along her face. She doesn't say anything as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
"Please, stay with me now." She asked quietly, and he promised her the same thing he'd constantly promised.
"Always"
