Sup, readers! This is my first fanfic for PJO. I'm new in this whole write-fanfics thing. Please bear with my writing. Enjoy!

Chiron was watching from a distance as Percy Jackson, Son of the Sea god, tried to shoot an arrow correctly.

"ARRGGH!" came a frustrated cry.

Chiron chuckled to himself knowing that Percy was having a hard time. So, being the nice centaur he is, he galloped towards the arena making clip clop noises.

"Percy, my boy, patience." He chuckled. "Do want my assistance?"

Percy whipped around with a scowl on his face. His expression softened as he saw Chiron.

"Oh. Hey Chiron." He said. "Yeah. I might need some help."

"I thought so." Chiron mumbled. "Let's start."

Percy POV

"Now, Percy, slowly draw the arrow…good. Now, aim…and release." Chiron instructed.

As I let go of the arrow, it sort of twisted and went the wrong way. It headed to the left. And on the left was…oh gods. The Demeter Cabin.

"AAHHHHH!" came a horrified scream, most likely a girl. "My pumpkin!" Uh oh.

Chiron and I looked at each other and something passed between us: Run.

I dropped the bow on the ground and nodded at Chiron who gestured to the woods. Great hiding place ,I thought. Nobody would be able to find us.

I ran at full speed with Chiron leading the way, galloping quickly, almost leaving me in the dust. Almost. I might be very bad at chasing tree nymphs, but I can run very fast if my life depends on it. And when you mess with the first prize pumpkins of the Demeter kids, your life sure depends on it.

I know I should've just walked up to them and apologized, but going near them right now is very fatal. Once, a Hephaestus kid accidentally dropped his hammer on a giant gourd and a small girl from the Demeter Cabin got extremely mad and kicked him where it counts. So, now the Demeter Cabin is being avoided by the Hephaestus kids.

Chiron and I entered the woods and kept running. Occasionally, getting hit by branches or tripping on gigantic root sticking out from the ground. That only happens to me, not Chiron. He's cool like that, but it's not fair that I got scratches and bruises while he got nothing.

We were already deep in the woods, surrounded by tons of trees. Screams from the Demeter Cabin, no doubt, could be heard from time to time. I was so scared that I said a silent prayer.

Lady Demeter, please forgive me for squishing the pumpkin. I didn't mean to! I was just-I'm sorry. I didn't want to harm the gigantic first prize pumpkin! I swear on the River Styx, it wasn't on purpose! Please, please, PLEASE forgive me!

I heard someone chuckling behind me and turned. I saw Chiron looking at me with amused eyes.

"What?" I asked. What was he chuckling about?

"Oh, nothing." He managed. "Just about how desperate you sounded. I was surprised you didn't cry."

This time, Chiron wasn't holding anything back. He started laughing all out. I felt my cheeks go hot. Did I really say that out loud?

"Yes, Percy." Chiron said. "You did." Darn it.

At this, Chiron laughed harder. It looked like he hasn't laughed this hard in a long time. I joined him in laughing. I mean, it was really embarrassing. Even I would laugh if it wasn't me in this situation.

"The coast is clear." I announced.

There was no more screaming. Both of us stopped laughing and caught our breath. When we started to breathe normally, we walked out of the woods.

Once out of the woods, I said, "I think the gods really don't want me to shoot an arrow…" Chiron chuckled.

"Yes, I think so, too." He said. "Go to the pavilion, Percy. It's time for dinner."

Right on cue, the conch horn blew, indicating dinner time. We both parted and went to dinner. And all I thought was, Poor pumpkin.
