Mug technology comes to Hogwarts

The teachers at Hogwarts are lonely. At least that's their student's opinion.

- Take Professor McGonagall for instant. She was madly in love with Professor Dumbledore for several years. But the love wasn't answered, was it? Cause rumors say he was gay. Anyway he's dead since long ago, says a sixth-year student who wishes to remain anonymous.

Now she can found herself a partner, thanks to a couple of Hogwarts students who have set up a dating network. And they are inspired by Muggles!

- We are in many ways "before" the Mugs. But in a few ways they have the upper hand. They have this thing called "technology" we could learn much from, says a bespectacled seventh- year student named Will Thomas.

- The dating community is working both digital and by owl. We hired some guys from a Muggle company who came here and installed something they called the Internet*. You should have seen their faces when they saw all the students with wands and stuff. Obviously we had to put an Obliviate-spell on them afterwards, says Wills friend Dorcas Ogden with a giggle.

Will and Dorcas got the idea of paring the teachers together last year when they realized how many of them where singles.

-75 % of the teachers here at Hogwarts are single. No wonder they are often so grumpy. They don't have the time to meet anyone, being a teacher at Hogwarts is a 24/7 job, Will says.

Other magical schools around the world are now following Hogwarts example. The community now has over 270 members announces Will and Dorcas proud. And it has only been around for 4 months.

The Dating Community, named The Lonely Night Owl, has already got a couple of lovebirds. Amy Flitwick, Charms Professor, found her love on the internet.

- He's from Wales. Much taller. Dark eyes. We´re getting married this summer. We've met 3 times, says a cheerful Amy.

-Happier teachers gives higher grades, says Dorcas with a wink.

* Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks. Find out more about this by visiting the Muggles know-it-all page (.org/wiki/Internet). If you don't have a computer we will send you the page on request by Owl.
