Rose hopped down from the upper platform of the Tardis with a smile. She'd changed something, and she thought it might make him happy.

The him currently in her thoughts was at the controls of his beloved machine. He flashed her a big smile, and a lingering look, but it was no bigger or lingering-er than normal. She slumped into one of the chairs. She wasn't disappointed, not yet. There were many more chances.

"Where we off to today, Doctor?" Rose asked, almost sultrily. She wasn't quite sure how to pose her feet, but she sure as hell would try.

"I thought we'd pay a quick visit to the Crusades," he said absently, fiddling with his knobs and dials.

"Am I dressed appropriately for that?" she asked, hoping his eyes would be drawn to her new edition.

He gave her a once over, intuitive eyes flashing all over her.

"You'll do," he said rather curtly, and turned back to the controls.

Rose sighed. This was going to be harder than she expected

The duo arrived back at the Tardis, covered from head to toe in all kinda of muck, smile, and alien gloop.

"I understand that the Legmirgon was about to eat us and all, but did you really have to explode it?" Rose said, rather tersely.

"Yes, I really did," The Doctor said without much care. As she began to stomp off to her nice, warm shower, he called after her. "Rose!"

She turned. "Yes, Doctor?"

He flashed her one of those brilliant smiles that she'd sell her soul for. "Nice shoes." Then he turned around, took his coat off, and went to his corner of the Tardis.

As Rose slowly began to disrobe and start the water, she couldn't stop smiling. She tenderly removed the brand new red Chuck Taylor Converse she'd purchased then last time she'd been in London, vowing to lovingly clean them first thing after her shower.

As she stepped into the water, she thought, very sillily, that all the exploding and mud and being held ransom by corrupt Templars, and even ruining the shoes, was worth it for that perfect smile.
