I don't own Goodbye Mr. A by the Hoosiers or A and B, or any of Death Note for that matter.
There's a hole in your logic
You who knows all the answers
You claim science aint magic
And expect me to buy it
"What do you mean you can see my name?!" A whispered harshly to an innocent B, who stared wide eyed up at the older genius, sucking on his thumb slightly.
"It's right there! Can't you see?" B mumbled, pointing above A's head, who merely blinked and knelled down to B's level.
"You must never tell anyone what you just told me, OK? What you're seeing isn't real, it's just a trick of your mind, alright?" A said, trying to convince the younger child not to go telling everyone their real names, thus ending up in a mental home.
"OK." B said warily, not believing a word of it.
And Goodbye Mr A
You promised you would love us
But you knew too much
B picked up his file that lay on A's bed, he had managed to sneak into his room during dinner time. Glancing at the mess of his room, B glanced over the psychology and mythology books that lay askew on the floor, clearly spotting the story of the "Shinigami" and their "Shinigami eyes", reading over it quickly before darting out of the room.
Goodbye Mr A
You had all the answers
But no human touch
If life is subtraction
Your number is up
Your love is a fraction
It's not adding up
A sat in the library, avoiding the other children as usual, reading frantically over the old testaments. B was a mystery A just couldn't crack. How could a small boy possess the eyes of a Shinigami?!
A ran a hand through his black hair and rubbed his ocean blue eyes, living up to the name of L more so with the recent bags that had grown under his eyes. Although he had only met L once, he could never forget what he looked like.
B peeked around the corner of one of the book shelves, glancing up at A's life span, the numbers were going down...
You forgot to switch your feelings on
Oh-Oh-Oh
So so superior, are you not?
You'd love a little bit but you forgot
"A, will you play with me?" B asked, dragging a puzzle box into A's room. A glances up at B with tired eyes filled with resentment.
"Not right now, B." A said firmly, going back to his work, sliding B's file under his bed quickly before the younger boy could see.
B glanced up at A's life span again, whispering "but there's not much time left."
Goodbye Mr A
You promised you would love us
But you knew too much
Goodbye Mr A
You had all the answers
But no human touch
If life is subtraction
Your number is up
Your love is a fraction
It's not any more
A curled up on his bed, glancing out of the small window, up to the starry sky. Scrunching his eyes up, A bit back a sob.
"I don't want to do this, I'm too young to do this, I'll never be as good as L, I can't even figure out B!"
Goodbye Mr A
The world was full of wonder
Till you opened my eyes
B knocked on A's door once again, finally giving up, B pushed it open. The furniture had been smashed and profanity had been carved onto the walls.
"L is the devil." to "B will rot in hell."
A had lost his mind.
Wish you hadn't blown my mind
And killed the surprise
Goodbye Mr A
You promised you would love us
But you knew to much
Goodbye Mr A
You had all the answers
But no human touch
If life is subtraction
Your number is up
Your love is a fraction
Glancing upwards, B's eyes widened as the first thing he saw was not the hanging, lifeless body of A, his hero, his brother, but a giant, flashing number.
0.
It's not any more
Only B and Mr. Wammy turned up for A's funeral, with no family or friends to speak of, it was a lonely day to die.
As the last of the mud was packed on the grave and as the first rain began to fall, B read A's grave stone.
A Alternative.
Proof that you can know too much.
