**This fic is not part of the "All My Dreams" universe...just in case that wasn't clear. The ones that are will always be clearly marked in the summary.
The doorbell chimed, and she went to answer it.
Much to her surprise, there was a man standing there with a huge arrangement of flowers.
"Quinn Fabray?" he asked.
When she nodded, he handed her the vase, and said, "Enjoy!"
She knew who they were from as soon as she saw the scrawled script which spelled out her name on the overly-large card.
As she opened the envelope, pulled out the card, and started reading it, she smiled.
Dear Quinn,
Happy Birthday! I know (and you know) that I won't be home until 5, so I thought I'd send these ahead to keep you company until I get there.
I hope you like them...I picked them out especially for you.
I picked roses because, really, they are the universal symbol for love, right? I don't know if that's actually true, but everyone always says roses are romantic, so... Plus, I know you like to dry them when they start to wilt.
I picked white lilies because they are a symbol for purity and sweetness, and our love is pure and sweet. Or, at least, I like to think it is.
I picked daisies because they remind me of the daisies you wore in your hair at our wedding.
I picked those little white things because the lady said I needed something for filler, and I thought they were cute...which reminded me of you, because you're the cutest thing I've ever seen.
I picked fern to go around the edges because I know they're your favourite greenery, which is why they're planted all over the back yard.
And I picked carnations because I know they're your favourite, and I know you have to stop and smell them every time they have them at the store.
I know a vase of flowers isn't the same as having me at home with you on your birthday, but I can promise you that I will make it up to you tomorrow, and I will book it off next year to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Sorry about the large card, I knew I wouldn't be able to fit everything I wanted to say on one of those tiny ones they usually put with flowers. The lady at the store looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wanted her to put one this size in.
See you at 5.
Love,
Artie
As she put the card down on the table, and took in the gorgeous flower arrangement, she thought about how lucky she was. And about how she couldn't wait for it to be 5.
