Prologue: Monkey Powers? Negative.
"RUN!"
The dig was a bust. The Cambodian temple was collapsing on itself. And because of Ron's monkey phobia, the statue had been ground into dust by the currently crumbling building. Kim was dragging Lord Montgomery Fiske by his midsection. She couldn't imagine what he was feeling right now. All those years of research and planning for what?
Nothing.
Honestly that was probably the scariest thing about the sitch. What was? The blank, shell shocked countenance on the lord's face was. He had started shaking not too long ago. Kim swore that it was because of anger or just a general depression. Afterall, he had come this close to obtaining the statue and then, just like the crumbling temple, it fell out of his hands…
There!
The exit was just ahead of her. If she could just...
Now!
With a leap, Kim and Lord Fiske tumbled out of the building. Breathing a sigh of relief, Kim glanced back for Ron. And found him just where she expected him. Right on her heels screaming.
Ron dived clumsily out of the building and turned to look back at it. As expected, the building collapsed the instant he left it. He looked at Kim, the very notion that she was safe lifted a huge weight off his shoulders. This is what he did every mission. This was the reason why he insisted on accompanying Kim on all of her adventures.
You see, he had discovered, that as long as he was around, whoever he wanted to protect would stay safe.
Lasers would miss by millimeters.
Debris would fall just after he passed under it.
Nothing could touch him really. And as long as he was alive, nothing would touch Kim either.
He was just too lucky for that…
