He's Uttered the Words

Summary: So what did Scully think when Mulder said those three little words. Here's what I think.

Those three words -- the words I've been waiting over five years to hear -- the words that I myself have almost uttered but have held back.
He can't mean it. I mean, he's delusional. He's just been through a traumatic experience. Of course he doesn't mean it!
But, what if he does mean it? What if his mind is clear and he's uttering the words that I know I've seen behind the facade he puts forth.
So many things point to this very thing ... traveling to the Arctic to save me ... the look on his face when he held what he thought was my dead body in his arms ... and other numerous events.
There are also the things that point to the contrary -- Dr. Bambi, Comity, Diana, and many more.
Surely he can't mean it.
But what if he does.
What do I say?
Do I just give in to all the emotions that have been tearing at my heart and just pour my heart out to him? It would be so easy.
I mean I have been like a madwoman during his visit to the ghost ship. I kissed Skinner for God's sake! Ha! I wasn't right in the head. Look what this man does to me!
The look in his eyes ... he looks like he is sincere. No! It must be what he's gone through ... he's not thinking clearly.
Well, here goes nothing ... do I tell him how I feel?
I can't!
Yes I can!
NO I CAN'T!!!
