My Best Friend

One of the letters Zenna wrote to Hiccup while she was away studying to be a doctor doesn't just show how much her friendship to the brilliant one-legged boy means to her...it also shows that she's a pretty darn good poet.

Another shot at poetry here from me :) And believe it or not, this was actually my Project in English. I got 22 out of 25 for it :D

My Best Friend…

I hear the wind and rain singing our song

Don't worry for I won't be gone long

Time will pass as quick as the tide

And before you know it, I'll be back by your side

Although I've only been gone now a short while

I'm already missing your cheesy smile

I already miss your creative hands

That always held mine as we explored distant lands

---

Your brilliant mind gave birth to great inventions

And your kind heart established friendly connections

Your eyes are emeralds that I treasure

Our friendship, my most exciting adventure

When we were young, you had arms like twigs

When we said our good-byes, you still hadn't gotten big

As I sit and write this, I now wonder

Are you still yearning to grow stronger?

Together we grew, together we flew

Shared might, we fought a great fight

To bring peace to our land

We fought the war hand-in-hand

---

The storm keeps on roaring but I feel no fear in my heart

Because I know we'll only spend a few years apart

Until I return, just remember that even when The End of All Days comes

I'll be by your side and always have your back, my friend
