Doc. and Kitty were sitting in the long branch Louie was sweeping the floor . Kitty instructed Sam to pay him a little extra today because he was not looking so good. She hoped he would get something to eat if he had the extra money. Doc told her Louie would go down hill if he did not start eating more.
Later that day, Kitty was cooking in the Long Branch kitchen. Matt entered.
Matt:" Afternoon Sam what is that smell "
Sam :"Miss Russell has been cooking all day. She must bee planning on having guests for dinner I think she is cooking for a small army.
O no, Matt thought did I forget a date. It is not her birthday. Try as he might he could not remember having plans with her. Thinking he better not disappoint her again He rushed off to get cleaned up.
While fixing his tie he question Doc. and Chester to see if they knew of any event he might have forgotten, neither did. He wondered was it a gift kind of event. If it was what kind of gift. It had always been hard to find something Kitty would like. Anything she wanted she bought for her self. He decided on flowers, those were good for any occasion.
As Matt entered the Long Branch ( he hid the flowers in his coat) he was met with cat call and whistles. After all he was all dressed up on a Tuesday! He spotted Kitty, she was giving Louie
a bowl of soup.
Kitty looked up saw Matt in his Sunday best." OOOO" is all she said. She felt under dressed.
He crossed the room took her by the arm said " lets get some air" As he escorted outside she wondered if she had forgotten a date. Once outside he presented her with the flowers. Kitty was so surprised she forgot she had given Sam the night off.
It was the girls night off also Kitty was suppose to be tending to the bar.
It was not like the cowboys were steeling from the Long Branch No one was serving them. They started pouring the drinks them self. A party soon broke out with free food and free drinks
Kitty and Matt spent the next few hours walking and talking as the stars twinkled above.
The cowboys threw up all over the Long Branch
Matt and Kitty kiss as the sun rises.
