'You are mine, Claire!' his whisper tickled her ear. She smiled.

'You are mine, Peter!' she whispered as he kissed her back.

That feverish whisper had echoed through the night for so many months already. Nobody knew about them. Nobody had to know. He slid his fingers between hers and his head rested on her back.

'I won't give up!' His lips caressed her skin. 'I love you.'

'I love you too.' Claire closed her eyes with a smile. She knew that someday the game would be over. Someday, their family would find out. However, she did not care. She had him; she had her soul again.

When it actually happened, Claire was ready--or thought she was ready. Seeing the hate and disappointment in all those eyes was too much for her. She squeezed his hand and he squeezed hers back. Peter was right beside her. He had promised her, and he was there. Their family was angry; they looked so disappointed in them, but Claire did not care. She had found her soul again.

'You have to choose.' Noah was staring at her with his accusing look.

'You both have to choose.' Angela was staring at Peter.

'Choose what?' Peter was the one that asked.

'You have to choose between your sick relationship and your family!' Nathan got off his couch and came closer to them. 'You can't have both.'

Claire heard him, she heard his family, she heard her father, but she had decided. She made her decision the moment they had kissed for the first time. Her fingers laced with his and she looked up at him. Peter looked at her too. He nodded; they did not need words.

'I'm choosing him.' She whispered.

'I'm choosing her.' He whispered back.

No one said another word, and when they flew away from the mansion, Claire knew that she had made the right choice. Leaning her head on his shoulder and feeling his arms around her, Claire was sure that she chose right.

'I love you, Claire.'

'I love you too, Peter.'

It was not an easy love; they both needed to give up their normal lives. They knew that there was no turning back, but they had each other and that was enough.

They had found their souls… and they never looked back.
