CHAPTER 1:

I couldn't believe that I was back here in the place I promised I would never return to. I was back in Gotham. I truly hated this place. People walked around me without a care in the world, even though they lived in the city with the most crime. They walked not even noticing the people that were around them. They just didn't care.

I kept walking until I reached my new home. It was apartment and not in the greatest part of Gotham. The Narrows. I couldn't really find anything better. I sighed as I walked up the stairs into my apartment. My apartment number 55 the number was barely visible. The old brown door looked like it was barely staying up. I inserted the key into the lock and had to shove it in hard for it to even go in. I shoved the door and was happy that it at least opened and not fell. The inside was small just a small kitchen to my right, a small hallway which led to a bedroom on the left and a bathroom on the right. A little living room to the left of me. All in all it could have been a lot worse. I sighed at the sight of my apartment.

I quickly closed the door behind me and locked it the last thing I needed was someone to come in. Not like the door looked like it could withstand even a kick to it. I walked into my bedroom and left the bag on the bed. I grabbed my pj's which consisted of a blue tank top and green shorts. I walked into the bathroom to take a quick shower. I was after all exhausted after the trip that I had taken to come back to this hell hole. When I walked into the bathroom I noticed my reflection. I had dark circles under my eyes. It made sense since I hadn't been able to sleep for a while now. The only reason I came back here was because as much as I hated Gotham it was a part of me. I quickly showered and changed into my pj's. I relaxed into my bed and attempted to fall asleep. I had always had a hard time sleeping, but it seemed harder here in Gotham were you could hear the police sirens outside. Tomorrow I would be starting my first day working at a small coffee shop. Not the ideal job but as long as I had enough money to pay for this shitty apartment and food, for now I would be fine. I closed my eyes and relaxed as I finally rested.
