"So, Mulan or Little Mermaid?"

"Mulan. We haven't watched that one in ages"

Charlie smiled up at Justin from the floor and inserted Mulan into the DVD tray, tossing the empty case and the little mermaid on the floor for later.

He heavied himself onto the sofa next to his English best friend, sinking into the depths of the cushions.

For the first time ever, Windsor was silent. Everyone was out watching a local showchoir competition, except for Dwight, who was once again cleansing the grounds of spirits.

Charlie and Justin had decided to take advantage of the quietness and have a Disney movie night, which they had had every weekend when they were younger but had been becoming less frequent as they moved up the school.

Charlie grabbed a nearby thick blue blanket to cover him and Justin for the film and covered their laps with it.

Justin snuggled into Charlie's side, sharing the warmth on the cold wintery night. This position would have been awkward had it have been anyone else, but the two boys were close enough to be comfortable around each other.

A warm glow of content spread through Justin. After what his family had been dumping on him recently it was nice to spend time with someone who cared about him without any inhibitions.

As the movie drew to a close Justin made to get up, but was stopped by Charlie's strong arm clasping his hand.

"Stay a little while longer. It'll be ages before the boys get back. We can talk like we used to."

"Alright Chaz. I kinda have something I wanted to say to you anyway"

Justin suddenly looked nervous, and this was enough to drag Charlie out of his sleepy state and sit upright, preparing to listen to his friend.

"Mother and Father wish to come on a visit soon. They want to know why I haven't found a respectable woman to marry"

"J I told you. You don't have to worry about what your parents think. You'll find the right person, whether it be a boy or a girl, in your own time, and your parents will just have to accept that."

Justin was painfully aware that he had been struggling with his sexuality recently, but had come to the conclusion that as long as what he was doing felt right, then there was no need to put a label on it.

"But Chaz, I think I already found the right guy, but he doesn't love me back, and I don't know if my parents will accept me being gay anyway."

By this point Justin was almost in tears. It was one of the worst feelings in the world.

"who?"

Charlie's voice was dark and verging on cold. He didn't want anyone to not love Justin back. HIS Justin, who he had secretly loved since he laid eyes on him. No one hads the right to make him feel this way.

Justin shifted in his seat, so that him and Charlie were sitting facing each other on the sofa, but making sure that they were still close enough to be touching.

"Chaz, I think I love you" he said, voice barely above a whisper.

Suddenly all of Charlie's worries vanished. Everything would be okay. Better than okay. They were going to been amazing.

"I love you too" The honesty in Charlie's voice was indisputable.

Justin was estactic. His best friend loved him back! Screw his parents, if they didn't accept his choice then they don't deserve his love anyway.

He leaned forward at the exact same time as Charlie, and their lips met in a kiss. The kiss was sweet and gentle, and full of promises for the future. It didn't get any better than this.
