Hey guys! I know I should be writing the next chapter of my other story but this scene just popped into my head and I just had to write it. It's a oneshot and kind of fluffy I guess. Well anyways enjoy!
Kate Beckett was sitting at her desk knee deep in paperwork, while her partner the famous novelist Richard Castle was sitting in his chair fiddling with his phone. Kate felt like she was about to just fall asleep in her chair from how tired she was from all the paperwork. Lifting up her empty coffee cup and tapping the bottom, trying to salvage the few tiny drops left. Castle notices…
"I don't think there's anything left in there." Castle said smiling.
"I know, I'm going to go make another one you want one?"
"Um, how about I go make them." Castle knew Kate didn't know how to use the coffee machine.
"No I can go make it." Kate knew she didn't know how the machine worked but she'd try her best to figure it out and not burn herself again. She got up and started walking into the room where the machine was, and Castle followed.
"Castle, I can figure it out myself." Kate said while she entered the room.
"Sure you can." He said following right behind her. But when Castle entered the room he saw Kate standing still, frozen in fear.
"Um, Kate? You alright."
But Kate didn't answer she just stood there not able to move with her eyes wide open. Until Kate let out a small scream loud enough for castle to hear and jumped behind him. Concerned, Castle looked around trying to find what was so frightening until he saw it. There was a spider coming down on its web, and the spider wasn't small it was pretty big. But castle wasn't scared of spiders, unlike someone…
"Kate?"
"Kill it!"
"Kill what the spider?"
"Yes the spider! Kill it!"
"Your scared of spiders?"
"No I jumped behind you for fun. Now will you kill the damn spider!"
"Alright, Alright calm down!" and Castle hit the web with his arm and when the spider fell to the ground he squished it with his shoe. Kate lifted up her head a tiny bit to see if the spider was gone.
"Is it gone?"
"Yeah it's gone." Castle started to smile at the sight of her being scared of spiders.
"Thanks" Kate got out of her hiding space behind Castle and she didn't even notice she was grasping the back of his jacket with her hands. Then she headed for the coffee machine. But Castle walked in front of her and started making the coffee's. Kate leaned against the wall beside the machine.
"So.. spiders?" Castle asked smiling.
"What about them?" Kate acted as what had just happened never happened.
"C'mon Kate just admit it your scared of spiders."
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Alright fine, I'm scared of spiders alright."
"Why?"
"There just creepy okay! The way they walk, and how they just decide to invade your home and make webs everywhere." Kate shuddered even just thinking about it.
"I can't believe this."
"Can't believe what?"
"That the bad ass cop Beckett is afraid of spiders!"
"Oh shut-up Castle! It's not like your not afraid of anything!"
"True, but I'm not afraid of little spiders."
"That spider was not little!"
"Whatever you say."
Kate started leaving the room until she ran back to Castle.
"If you tell anyone about this I swear to God I will kill you!"
"Don't worry , your secrets safe with me." Beckett rolled her eyes and walked away.
