OPPOSITES ATTRACT

A/N: Sesshoumaru will have his abilities from the Anime as well as the Manga. Kirara humanoid abilities I will make up as I go along. Please review and let me know if I made any mistakes, but please no flames.

Summary: A certain Inu youkai Lord goes into heat and comes upon the heat scent of a certain Kaki (fire) Neko (cat). And a fiery passion ignites between the two.
Chapter 1: Late Bloomers
Every spring all of the mammal youkai (Inus, Nekos, Okkamis etc.) go in to heat for two weeks. While some higher class youkai are born with the ability to transform into a humanoid form, others have to wait until they go into their first heat before they gain the ability to shape shift into a humanoid. (When they are about 250 year old or 15 human years). Kaki Neko are one of the species of youkai that has to wait for there first heat to gain a humanoid form. When a youkai goes into heat their instincts kicks in and many of them end up mating and producing children (pups, cubs etc.). Others that do not want to have offspring have to have complete control over their beast or go somewhere alone until the heat is over. Some higher class youkai are late bloomers however. They many not gain their human form until centuries later. Kirara, the Inu tachi beloved Kaki Neko still doesn't have a humanoid form and she is 800 years old. She has mated, but only in her true form. The one time she did become pregnant she lost the child during a battle in Midoriko's time. Midoriko had comfort her at that time and Kirara will never forget her for that (Kirara has a hard time getting pregnant, so it was heart breaking for her to lose the child. Midoriko's support helped pull her out of her depression).
Kirara like all other higher youkai has the ability to think and understand her surroundings just like any other sentient being; she just couldn't speak in a human or humanoid language. No one knew why some youkai didn't transform until much later in life. Kirara though it may have something to do with the fact that she was raised by humans. Her family was killed while she was a kitten and she was taken in by a family of human priest and priestesses. Almost a hundred years later, she was giving to a young warrior priestess Midoriko. After Midoriko died she was taken in by the Tayjia village. She lived there until the village was wiped out by many youkai (mainly Naraku). After Naraku was finally defeated she left behind her long time Mistress Sango and began new adventures with Kohaku. Even though being around humans could be the cause of her late development, she doesn't regret a second of it. She loves her human family and would protect them with her life.
Kirara went with Kohaku to help him train and become the best tayjia there is. She was glad that Kohaku decided to live with his dark past. She also will be forever grateful to everyone who helped him get his life back. That includes Inu tachi gang who protected him, Kagura who died protecting him, Kikyo (who gave him life by giving him her light) and Sesshoumaru who protected him and almost got himself killed by the foul sprit Magatsuhi doing it. Kohaku past still bothers him, but he takes it one day at a time. Even though he doesn't think she understands him, Kohaku talks to her about his past with Naraku and his travels with Kikyo, Sesshoumaru and Kagura. She feels bad that she can't communicate with him. Granted Inuyasha can speak Inu but the Kaki Neko language is different. When she tried to speak to him, he didn't understand her. But what Kirara didn't know was that she would be able to communicate with all of her friends because very soon she will go into heat. And very soon she will gain her humanoid form.
Chapter 2: Kirara Transformation and Sesshoumaru Discovery
