Pink Petals

Far away in the distance was a young fifteen year old girl. She sat atop a secluded hill, her back arched on a white willow tree. It was a clear spring day with clear blue skies and a warm breeze. The air was scented with crisp roses. The sun added a hint of serenity to the already peaceful scene.

A sudden gust of wind ruffled Sana's pure white dress and made the willow tree's soft pink petals dance playfully around her. She was startled at the appearance of a figure behind the delicate petals.

"Why are you all the way up here?" the figure asked revealing its self.

"Akito, stupid, you scared me." the redhead informed goodnaturedly, laughing lightly.

Akito walked further up the hill in a white tuxedo. He slide his right hand in his pocket. "Sorry, I guess," he rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, before meeting her gaze. "But you're missing Natsumi's wedding party. I thought that was your thing."

Sana sighed calmly as a warm breeze swirled the petals around her once more. "Yes, I know. But... when I noticed this place, I couldn't help but wander off." She placed her hands in the moist grass, blades of the plant being wrinkled by her fingers. "I really like it up here, Akito."

Akito sat with his back against the white tree beside her. He xcasully rested hs shoulder on her own, watching the gathering below. "I don't blame you. Natsumi's friends are bratty."

There was a softness in Sana's eyes as she looked up at Akito. "No, it's not that," she explained half joking, "There's just a calmness here. You know?" she took a quick glance up at the willows trees gentle, blossoming pink petals.

He shook his head.

Akito's hazel eyes met Sana's brown ones. She was gorgeous where she was. There were soft petals floating all around her and tickling her creamy soft skin. He had to admit that this place was perfect for Sana's attitude… on occasion.

"What's wrong, Akito?"

He slowly reached out to her orange hair and gently pulled out her pigtails. Then he took a white rose that rested in his tuxedo pocket and slide it behind her ear. "You're beautiful." he said simply as he leaned to the side and pressed his lips softly against hers.

A dark pink blush accented her cheeks as he pulled away.

"I think I..." He paused. "I think I love you."

"And I love you Akito Hayama." she smiled cutely as her blush became a light red. She than wrapped her arms around Akito's left one and rested her head on his shoulder "I want to get married here… to you."

Akito blushed also. He had always planned to get married to her. But her saying it like that made it dawn with realization. "If that will make you smile." he then smiled one of his rare smiles.

"Yes, that would make me smile… because I'm always happy when I'm with you." she smiled as she kissed him on the cheek.

And with that, Sana stayed cuddled on Akito, watching swirling pink petals.
