Kisses

A little DL idea that popped into my head just in time for Valentine's Day. Press 'GO' and make a very bored author very happy. I live off of reviews.

Lindsay looked at the calendar on the wall. The calendar looked back at her.

Today's date was circled with a big red marker: February 14th, Valentine's Day.

She had the day off, but unfortunately, she couldn't say the same for her boyfriend.

It was their first 'couple's' holiday together. Their first year anniversary hadn't yet come around.

"I've got something really special planned for tonight, Montana."

She smiled as she remembered the words Danny had whispered in her ear before he left for work that morning. He told her that she should come to his apartment at seven that night for a 'surprise'.

"Should I be dressed up for anything?"

"You could, but you wouldn't need to. After all, you'd be dressed down by the end of the night anyway."

So, following his directions, she simply wore a pair of jeans and a red knitted sweater. It was Valentine's Day after all.

"The door's open," Danny called.

Lindsay tentatively opened the door, instantly shocked at what she saw before her.

Almost every available surface in the apartment had lighted candles sitting on top and the floor was scattered with rose petals.

"Wow," she managed to get out. "Scratch that comment about me saying you weren't a romantic." She picked up a couple of DVDs that were laid out on the coffee table.

She held up The Notebook and Titanic.

"So? They're great movies," he grinned. "Come on, dinner's ready."

Danny had prepared his specialty: pasta, of course, and wine. The two chatted about work, coworkers, and gossip, neither really moving towards the subject of 'them' or their relationship.

After clearing up the plates, they were sitting on the couch, sipping wine with Frank Sinatra playing in the background.

"So what about dessert?" Lindsay asked.

"One hundred kisses from me," he beamed, holding out a heart-shaped box of Hershey chocolate kisses.

She pouted. "Not the real thing?"

"Well I was told that chocolate was a girl's best friend," he smirked, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"No that's diamonds," she laughed and took a Kiss from the box and popped it in her mouth, "Actually, you might be right about chocolate though."

"Really? What happened to having 'the real thing'?"

Lindsay shook her head, "Nah, I like these so much better."

Danny suddenly caught her lips in a passionate kiss, his hand cupping the back of her head to take the kiss deeper.

He pulled away, grinning like a fool seeing her breathless, "You sure about that? Whose kisses do you like better, Montana? Mr. Hershey's or mine?"

Lindsay grabbed his shirt and pulled her to him, their bodies shifting so that Danny was on top of her, kissing furiously while the box of Kisses lay forgotten on the coffee table.

This time, she was the one who pulled away, "You know what? I might need a few more, just to compare."

Danny smiled against her lips, "For you, anything."
