AN: A challenge from Amaherst, who requested Harry/Ginny, with fluff, with a theme of redemption. This fic uses definition of redemption - "the redemption of prisoners taken in war". Enjoy.

"If I spend one more day in here, I'm going to go completely insane!"

Ginny Weasley paced up and down the small, windowless cell she shared with Luna Lovegood. The room was absolutely filthy, not that they could see it particularly well in the gloom.

"Just focus on Harry. Hope that he's out there, somewhere, he's winning. When he does, you know he'll come and rescue you, like your knight in shining armour."

"Knight in shining armour?" Ginny couldn't help but laugh at the image. "He'll be as scruffy as ever, Luna, you know that. But at least he will come, when he finds out where we are."

"Where you are." Luna looked her friend in the eyes. "You weren't there when he heard you'd been taken. I was. He went absolutely crazy, wanted to go racing off to find you. I've never seen anything like it."

It had to be serious. Luna had made a speech without mentioning nargles or crumple-horned snorkacks (whatever they happened to be).

"We're still stuck here until someone arrives, since we don't have our wands any more."

A loud crash above them made both girls jump, and cling to each other. There may not be safety in numbers, but it made them feel better.

"Where is she?" The voice, though slightly muffled, was unmistakably Harry Potter. The reply, assuming there was one, was inaudible, but the angry roar of "Ginny Weasley" could clearly be heard in their tiny cell.

"I told you he'd come and rescue you, Ginny." The dreamy quality was back in Luna's voice.

"But what about you, Luna? If he's my rescuer, who's yours? Or who would you like it to be, should I ask?" A smirk graced Ginny's features. It had been a long time since she'd last used the smirk.

"Well, I expect I'll be able to leave even if he isn't here, won't I?"

"Of course you will, Luna, but that doesn't answer my question."

"I think I'd like it to be Neville."

"Neville Longbottom?"

"I don't know anyone else by that name."

Well, that was unexpected. Neville and Luna. Still, no time to dwell on that now; she could hear footsteps approaching, and voices calling their names.

"We're in here!" Ginny shouted back, as loudly as she could manage.

"Alohamora!" Not surprisingly, the basic spell didn't work.

"Hold on, Ginny, we'll get you out of there."

Muttered spells could just about be heard – probably from Hermione, but it was Harry who rushed through the door as soon as it opened. He didn't seem to notice the fact that she was filthy, and hadn't had a shower since she'd been kidnapped. He flung his arms around her anyway. Menial things like that just didn't seem important.

"I was lost when I heard they'd taken you. I didn't know what to do."

She hugged him tightly. "Let's get out of here; find somewhere safe."

Taking her by the hand, Harry led the small group out of the place that had been her prison for so long. Not that leaving would be that easy – a few more Death Eaters had arrived since the initial siege wiped out the guards, and these were prepared to fight. A wand was pressed into Ginny's hand. Glancing at it, she could see that it was her own.

"I thought you'd want it back," Harry murmured in her ear.

"Thank you."

Fortunately for Ginny, the battle was over quickly, as she simply hadn't the energy to continue for long. She was already on the verge of collapse when Harry scooped her up in his arms and apparated.

…………………

She woke up several hours later, in the room she used at Grimmauld Place. Harry was sitting next to her bed, stroking her hair.

"I'm never letting you go again, Ginny."
