Here is the brand-new rewrite of chapter one of my story Jacob Jaxon. I have grown a lot in my writing skills since I first started this story and I will see it to the end. I hope to finish it before this year is over, I will take out a lot of the confusing plot points, and it may be an entirely different story by the time this is done. I hope you enjoy this. I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS THAT ARE FROM THE TWILIGHT SERIES BUT DO HAVE SOME OC IN HERE AS WELL. Again, I hope you enjoy. I am still currently looking for a beta and if you would like to be it. Please private message me so we can talk about it. -Emily
The bundle of joy that I call my beautiful son looked up at me as if, I was the most important person in the world. Even though his world only consisted of the small little corner of my bedroom that he called his own, in this small little apartment that we call home. I always love watching him sleep; he sleeps all through the night, I consider myself lucky, most parents are still up and down all night for feedings. My son has his father's dark russet skin color, but my eyes that aren't as dark as his father's. He has my skinny lips, nose. He has his father's smile that could light up anyone who meets him. Finally, satisfied that he is safe, I slowly make my way to my bed, curling underneath my covers thinking about what once was mine. My son's father.
JJ woke up bright, early and starving. This little boy could eat for days at least that is what it seems to me. I pick him up out of his crib walking out of the bedroom and into the tiny little kitchen to prepare a bottle of formula, after the feeding, the first-morning change I open the fridge, and to my dismay, there is nothing in it for me to eat. I guess it is time to go to the store again. I get dressed for the day in a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a tee shirt that is two sizes too big, pulling my hair up in a messy "mom" bun and preparing to get JJ ready for the trip to the local market just down the street. The market is my favorite it has a beautiful selection of produce and has a small-town feel to it just like Forks.
I pull into the parking lot towards the back of the lot, unloading JJ from the silver Subaru Legacy that I bought after saving for a car big enough for a baby and me. The guy who I bought it from gave me an excellent trade in on the truck said it was a collector's item. I couldn't pass up a bargain, the deal was done I miss that truck, but JJ and I have a car that is safer for him. I get out of the car, zipping up my jacket a bit like a walk to the other side. I unlock the car seat from its base, picking up the diaper bag off the floor board of the car, flipping a blanket over JJ and heading into towards the small market. I grab a cart, putting JJ's car seat in the basket heading towards, the isle I need to make food. I just want to get out of here without spending too much money.
"Bella?" I'm suddenly pulled back into reality when I think I hear someone calling my name. It can't be I don't know anyone here except the people I have met at my job.
"Bella Swan? Is that really you?" Oh, Fuck. I'd know that voice anywhere. JACOB BLACK. FUCK. I have to get the hell out of here. It's too late Bella you can't walk away now, you'll just seem rude. Ugh. Out of all days to run out of food Bella. Why today? I didn't want to see him again. He is going to know about JJ how are you going to explain. How are you going to get out of this mess? FUCK.
"Bella…." He said again ripping me back into reality. I just continue to stare at him for a moment. God does the man look good. Ugh. Pull it together Bella he is talking to you. The way that his tight black shirt hugs his perfectly sculpted body as if some God. I can see the outline of his six pack, his russet colored skin, still as beautiful as always. OH god, he stills like pine trees, mint and car oil. Those are still the same russet color with sparkles of gold that shine when he smiles with his eyes. Those lips are so full and plump just waiting to be chewed on. Oh god and those pants.
"Bella?" He said again. Oh fuck. I just stared off into space again.
"Hi…Jacob." I managed to squeak out. Oh god, I just squeaked.
"How are you?" He said getting closer to me and the cart. He hasn't seen JJ yet; maybe we can get out of this without him knowing. He is going to piece it together. Hold it together Bella. I moved in front of the cart to block JJ from him. At this moment JJ decided that he was going to cry, from being still too long. I move around the side of the cart to unbuckle him from his car seat. I'm doomed.
"Sh. Baby. Mommy's right here." I whispered. I knew Jacob could hear me with his supernatural hearing.
"Who's this little guy?" He said looking at JJ very carefully.
"This is my son," I stated with a smile on my face. I love my son.
"Well isn't he just the cutest. I haven't seen you in a year and a half…I was starting to think you didn't want to see me anymore, but now I get it." I sighed. This wasn't going to be pretty. It was going to be a lot of yelling and screaming brace yourself.
"Jacob it's not what you think." Please don't start screaming.
"I don't know what to think, to be honest maybe we can catch up for some coffee…Can you give me your number or you free now?"
"I am free now." Why did I just say that? I don't think I really want to face the music yet.
"Okay how about we go now I don't see you have anything in your cart yet?" Fuck. I'm not going to get to eat now. I haven't even gotten to going shopping now. Ugh. I wish it didn't have to be this maybe I can pick something up in a drive-thru or get the coffee shop. I can feel my stomach rumbling.
"Alright let's go now."
I can't even believe I agreed to this, what was I thinking this is going to ruining Jacob's whole life if I tell him the truth. I ran away from so I wouldn't ruin anyone else's life.
"To be honest, it would be easier to strap JJ's in if we took my car." I strapped JJ back in his car seat and put his blanket back over him, so he didn't get hit with the wind. We start walking into the parking lot I lead him towards my car.
"So.." He said with a bit of awkwardness as I clicked JJ's car seat into its base. I watched Jacob scrunch into the front seat of my car. I inwardly chuckle to myself. His tall frame fitting in the front of my car was funny.
"What does JJ stand for?" He states as I get into the car and turn it on.
"Yeah. His name is Jacob Jaxon."
"You called him Jacob." His face looked surprised as I put into reverse hopefully heading towards something to eat.
"I hope you don't mind me stopping I haven't eaten in a while and my fridge is bare, and I didn't get to shop for any," I said to him.
"No, I don't mind." I pulled the car into the nearest McDonalds drive thru and ordered food. Jacob handed me money for the food, I declined, and he insisted that he pay. He looked at me again and let out a breath.
"So his name is Jacob Jaxon." He let out another sigh.
"Yeah. I named him after you." I said not mentioning my son's last name. Soon enough he'll know all my dirty little secrets.
"Well, thanks, Bells…At least I think thanks." I chuckled at him. I've missed him a lot. I wonder what it would be like if he actually knew. I pulled into the parking lot of my apartment building, turning off the car, getting out to get JJ's car seat out of the car along with his diaper bag.
Here we are." I grabbed JJ out of the car and walked towards the apartment unlocking the door.
"Cute little place you've got here." He said as we walked through the door. It's not much I know Jacob. I'm doing the best I can for my son, and sometimes I am aware that it is not enough.
"Thanks, make yourself at home, and I'll be just a minute laying JJ down in his crib, then we can eat."
"Okay." He seemed slightly uneasy about what we would have to talk about.
