Chapter 1
"Haley we need to talk."
Haley James has sitting in her living room reading a book when her parents came home from the base. She has been an army brat her whole life so it wasnt too hard for her to know was happening.
"It's Time to pack your gear Haley- bob. We're moving to South Korea."
She knew this was coming. She could feel her internal organs turn weightless and start floating around inside her body. "What!?" Haley blurted out. "It's been a while seen we were transferred, it should be exciting," said her mother matter- of- factly.
Megan has moved all her life. She was born in Germany after all. She had her first friend at five then she was transferred to Turkey. After a few years of living there was playing soccer with the boys and learning Turkish from her best friend Medha she moved again. This time she moved to the States. She has lived in Colorado, North Carolina, Kansas and Texas. She never really felt like she had any real friend here in Texas. She has made it through along with her best friend Brooke Davis. She was on the state champs soccer team and just gotten her learners permit.
"Haley. Say something," said her father. "I'm not going"
It took every ounce of courage just to say those words.
"Come again!" said her father.
"No, I'm not going,"
"You can't do this to me this is my life and I… I have prom and soccer and my friends and…" Ben Palmer who I am madly in love with… Ohhhh his perfect dimples and that smile!
"Well there is one other option," said her mother
"There is?"
"We have to go, your father and I, but if you really wanna go…"
"I can stay with Tracy?"
"No, they already have they're hands full. Do you remember my friend Dan Scott?"
"Yes the one with the 7 boys?"
"Yes him, and the boys will take a while to adjust but I'm sure you'll get used to it."
Megan's mind filled with images of boys, boys with missing teeth their faces smeared with popsicle goo and greasy hair chubby little boys. She imaged they wouldn't be that way any more or maybe they were. That was how they were the last time she saw them, they were around her ago, seven years ago. That means most of them would be- gulp- teenage boys.
She was sixteen years old and she hasn't had a functional conversation with any of the boys in her class. How will see live with seven of them?
