It was hot…
Too hot.
The scorching, dry air gnawed at his face; God, how he wished he was still home, where the word winter actually meant something.
'Although...' he considered.
There were a few things here that home couldn't supply to him…on a regular basis, that is…one of them presently at his side.
Oh, how he wanted to gently stroke that dirty blonde hair. It always looked so course from a distance, but up close, it was unfathomably soft.
He sighed, longingly.
And then there were those large humps enticing him mercilessly, bouncing with the large strides made by the one he so admired.
"What—no—WHO in the Hell are you talking about?" asked a livid Temari; she, Shikamaru, and Kankuro were leading a camel across the desert. Temari halted completely and started cracking her knuckles when a very tomato-faced Shikamaru realized he was musing out loud. Kankuro was on the sides, biting his hand in an attempt to keep his hysterics at bay.
He was failing. Miserably.
"I was…" Shikamaru closed his eyes. 'What better time than to use my strategic skills than now?' He'd never been more thankful for having a genius brain than now.
Shikamaru's eyes shot open. 'Brain blast!'
"I was…talking about…"
"You were talking about…?" Temari proceeded to crack her neck.
"Iwastalkingaboutthecamel." Shikamaru deadpanned, pointing towards the animal. He was so never going to live this one down. But then again, Kankuro and Gaara would probably have his head if he really told them who the dirty-blonde beauty was.
"ARE YOU—GAHAHAHAHHA—OH MY GOD—HAHAHHAA—I WANT TO DIE!"
The two turned to the sight of Kankuro flailing with hysterical laughter, make-up running, punching the air, and kicking sand in their faces.
"F-F-F-F-F-FAHAHAHHAHA! OH MY GOD! OHMYGOD! I THINK I JUST PEED!"
'Yep…I am never going to live this down.' Shikamaru decided.
Ok, so, I don't think Shikamaru was completely in character, but whatever And as to Kankuro's laugh, the "f-f-f-f-f" one, ahaha...I laugh like that, actually. And I think everyone else in this world does too!
