The Wind

"The wind…" Miles felt his hair brush against his hollow cheeks as the wind blew it behind him. He stood on a flowered hill, where he had spent most of his childhood. He had dreamt about his father on this hill, he had asked God why he had been taken away. He had cried on this hill. He had fallen in love on this hill. This hill was his past. And the wind was his future. His past, his past was fixated, unchangeable. His future was unidentified, blowing about like the wind. He closed his steely eyes and cried, the second time in his life. He dropped to his knees and cried. He sobbed more than he ever thought possible. He buried his head in his hands. He remembered the first time he cried. There had been a hand on his head, someone running their hands through his hair, helping him feel secure. He remembered a voice. It was unlike any voice he had ever heard. A soft, sweet voice that felt so… right.
"Miles…Miles. Be strong. You can do it. Please… when you cry, I will always cry, too." It was then that he fell in love. Every day after that, he came back. He strained his ears, attempting to hear it again. He thought he saw something black fluttering in the wind that day, as if the girl was running away. He searched for the girl. He wanted to see her one more time; so that he could tell her he loved her. It was all in vain, though. She had floated away, like the wind. He wiped his eyes. She felt his tears, and the last thing he wanted to do was to cause her pain. He did not, however, take his head out of his hands. All of a sudden, he felt the feeling he had thought of for so many years. He felt hands running through his hair.
"Miles. Please smile. It makes me happy when you smile!" I felt a strange sensation. I smiled. "Thank you."
And she was gone. There was one complication to her disappearance. She left something identifying behind. Not that Miles noticed. When he walked away, there was a blue gem in the grass.
Whooooooooooooo could it possibly be? Lol, I just love that pairing. I love that sweet, sensitive side of them. Ahhh, love. Confuzzling, ain't it?
